Login to the Awarepoint Appliance
Press return a few times and you should see the login prompt. Enter:
Username: root
Password: (to be provided by Awarepoint)
Verify the system date
1. Type in "date" and press enter.
2. If the date is not correct then run "date MMDDhhmmYYYY" to set the date.
Example: For 10-20-2009 13:01 type "date 102013012009".
3. Run "date" again to verify the date.
Configure the Awarepoint Software
Note: Normally the Awarepoint Appliance software has been has been preconfigured
prior to onsite installation and requires only the “awp-network-config.sh” utility.
If an HTTPS proxy is in place (normally there is none) a second utility, “awp-proxy-
config.sh”, is used to configure proxy services.
The utility “awp-init.sh” will perform the following sections in this Appendix and is
referred to below for completeness but is not normally required.
Network Configuration
Verify that the network cable is attached to interface “eth0.” On the PE1950 this is
labeled “Gb2.”
Run “awp-init.sh” to run the configuration utility. The script displays the main menu:
step 1 configure network
hostname: localhost.localdomain
1) configure hostname
2) configure eth0
3) configure dns
q) quit
Select option 2, “configure eth0” and enter the IP Configuration (q to quit):
eth0 is enabled
using dhcp
