SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
The Wireless Modem Termination System is a hub modem system that accepts full duplex 100BaseT
Ethernet, arranges the incoming Ethernet data frames, multiplexes in TDM and modulates a downstream
64 QAM carrier. The 64 QAM IF output (44 MHz) signal/s is fed to the RF input/s of the Base
Transceiver Station (BTS).
This manual covers both Upstream and Downstream information, however only the downstream
components apply to this Type Acceptance submittal. The Downstream components include the
following:

WMTS Chassis

Host Card
•
Universal Cards (x2)
•
Downstream Cards (x2)
Each WMTS chassis supports up to two downstream channels; therefore four-channel operation requires
two WMTS chassis and corresponding circuit board cards.
