TheAxisproductcanbeconguredtoperformactionswhendifferenteventsoccur,forexample,startarecordingwhenmotionis
detected.ThesetofconditionsthatdeneshowandwhentheactionistriggerediscalledanActionRule.
AvailableActionRuletriggersandconditionsinclude:

•Detectors
-AudioDetection—triggertherulewhenaudioisdetected,seeAudioDetection,onpage37.
-Day/NightMode—triggertherulewhentheproductswitchesbetweendaymode(IRcutlteron)andnight
mode(IRcutlteroff).Thiscanforexamplebeusedtocontrolanexternalinfrared(IR)lightconnected
toanoutputport.
-MotionDetection—triggertherulewhenmotionisdetected,seeMotionDetection,onpage35.
-Tampering—triggertherulewhentamperingisdetected,seeCameraTampering,onpage35.
•Hardware

-Available—triggertherulewhenthestoragedeviceisunmountedorremoved.Thiscanforexamplebe
usedtosendmaintenancenotications.
-Full—triggertherulewhenthestoragedeviceisfull.Undernormaloperation,theoldestrecordingswillbe
overwrittentopreventthestoragedevicefrombecomingfull.
-Locked—triggertheruleifthestoragedeviceislocked(writeprotected).

-SystemInitializing—triggertherulewhentheproductisbeingstarted.Thiscanforexamplebeusedtosenda
noticationwhentheproductrestarts.
