SettingUpanActionRule

Anactionruledenestheconditionsthatmustbemetfortheproducttoperformanaction,forexamplerecordvideoorsendan

emailnotication.Ifmultipleconditionsaredened,allofthemmustbemettotriggertheaction.

Thefollowingexampledescribeshowtosetupanactionruletorecordvideotoanetworkshareifthereismovementinthe

camera’seldofview.

Setupmotiondetectionandaddanetworkshare:

1.GotoDetectors>MotionDetectionandcongureamotiondetectionwindow.Seepage25

2.GotoSystemOptions>Storageandsetupthenetworkshare.Seepage43.

Setuptheactionrule:

1.GotoEvents>ActionRulesandclickAdd.

2.SelectEnableruleandenteradescriptivenamefortherule.

3.SelectDetectorsfromtheTriggerdrop-downlist.

4.SelectMotionDetectionfromthedrop-downlist.Selectthemotiondetectionwindowtouse.

5.Optionally,selectaScheduleandAdditionalconditions.Seebelow.

6.UnderActions,selectRecordVideofromtheTypedrop-downlist.

7.SelectaStreamproleandconguretheDurationsettingsasdescribedbelow.

8.SelectNetworkSharefromtheStoragedrop-downlist.

Toaddadditionalcriteria,selecttheAdditionalconditionsoptionandaddadditionaltriggers.Topreventanactionfrombeing

triggeredrepeatedly,aWaitatleasttimecanbeset.Enterthetimeinhours,minutesandseconds,duringwhichthetrigger

shouldbeignoredbeforetheactionrulecanbeactivatedagain.

TherecordingDurationofsomeactionscanbesettoincludetimeimmediatelybeforeandaftertheevent.SelectPre-triggertime

and/orPost-triggertimeandenterthenumberofseconds.WhenWhiletheruleisactiveisenabledandtheactionistriggered

againduringthepost-triggertime,therecordingtimewillbeextendedwithanotherpost-triggertimeperiod.

FallbackAction

Afallbackactionisstartediftheprimaryactioncannotbestarted,forexampleifconnectiontoarecipientcannotbeestablished.

Fallbackactionsaretypicallyusedtosendemailnoticationsonfailedactionsortouploadimagestoasecondaryrecipient.
