Axis video server - Event configuration
Event configuration
This section describes how to configure the Axis video server for alarm handling. Various
actions can be configured to run when certain types of events occur.
A set of parameters describing how and when the video servervideo server is to perform certain
actions
- the circumstances that start an event e.g. at a signal from an external device, such as a door
switch or a motion sensor
- the circumstances that start an event e.g. at a pre-programmed time
- what occurs when the event runs e.g. video images uploaded to an FTP server, email noti-
fication sent, etc.
Event servers
Event Servers are used for e.g. receiving uploaded image files and/or notification messages.
To set up Event server for your Axis video server, go to Setup > Event Configuration >
Event Servers and enter the required information according to the selected server type.
For details on each setting, please refer to the online help available from each web
page.
Note: The images in pre-trigger and post-trigger buffers will be lost if the connection to the event server fails.
When the setup is complete, the connection can be tested by clicking the Test button (the
test takes approximately 10 seconds).
