AXIS Media Control - Installing AMC and Decoders
Remove H.264 Decoder
To remove the decoder:
1. Open the C:\Program Files\Axis Communications\Components folder.
2. Right-click the file AxH264Dec.dll and select Delete.
Install Windows Media Format Runtime
Windows Media Format Runtime (WMFR) is used to create high-definition Windows Media Video files. This is the file format
AMC uses to store recorded video. For more information see the Recording Tab, on page 18.
If WMFR is not already installed on your computer when you inst
all AMC, you will be prompted to install it. You can wait to
install WMFR, but you cannot record video using AMC until it is installed. See the Recording Tab, on page
18.
Notes:
• WMFR is included in Windows XP SP2 and Windows Vista, and will automatically be installed when you download and install XP
SP2.
• For Microsoft Windows 2008 Server, you will need to install the Desktop Experience. See Install Desktop Experience (Windows
2008 Server).
Install Desktop Experience (Windows 2008 Server)
To view and create video using Microsoft Windows 2008 Server, you will need to install the Desktop Experience.
1. Open Server Manager: click Start, point to Administ
rative Tools, and click Server Manager.
2. In the Features Summary section, click Add features.
3. Select the Desktop Experience check box, and then click Next. and then click Install.
