AXIS Media Control - Installing AMC and Decoders
Installing AMC and Decoders
Install AMC
If you are logged in and have Administrator rights to your computer, AMC will be installed when you access an Axis camera or
video encoder for the first time, or when a newer version of the AMC is required by the Axis camera or video encoder.
Note: A system administrator may also allow other types of users to install and update AMC. If you have a problem installing AMC, please see
you system administrator.
1. Start the Web browser and enter the IP address or host name for the camera or video encoder you want to access.
2. A dialog bar at the top of the browser will say that this website wants to install AMC. Click this bar to bring up a
menu that asks if you want to Install ActiveX Control. Select Install ActiveX Control to continue.
3. (Windows Vista, Windows 2008 Server) A User Account popup will ask you want to install AMC. Click Continue.
4. A Security Warning dialog will appear. Click Install to proceed with the installation.
Note: Make sure that Axis Communications AB is listed as the Publisher!
5. AMC is now installed and can be configured by opening the AMC Control Panel. For more information about AMC
configuration see AMC Control Panel, on page 15.
Remove AMC (Windows 2000, Windows 2003 Server, and Windows XP)
1. If you need to remove AMC from your computer, click Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs
to remove the program.

may use it.
