AccessfromaBrowser

1.Startabrowser(Chrome,InternetExplorer,Firefox,Safari).

2.EntertheIPaddressorhostnameoftheAxisproductinthebrowser’sLocation/Addresseld.Toaccesstheproductfroma

Macintoshcomputer(MacOSX),clickontheBonjourtabandselecttheproductfromthedrop-downlist.

IfyoudonotknowtheIPaddress,useAXISIPUtilitytolocatetheproductonthenetwork.Forinformationabout

3.Enteryourusernameandpassword.Ifthisisthersttimetheproductisaccessed,therootpasswordmustrstbe

congured.Forinstructions,seeSettheRootPasswordonpage10.

4.AXISEntryManageropensinyourbrowser.ThestartpageiscalledtheOverviewpage.

AccessfromtheInternet

Onceconnected,theAxisproductisaccessibleonyourlocalnetwork(LAN).ToaccesstheproductfromtheInternetyoumust

congureyournetworkroutertoallowincomingdatatrafctotheproduct.Todothis,enabletheNAT-traversalfeature,whichwill

attempttoautomaticallyconguretheroutertoallowaccesstotheproduct.ThisisenabledfromSetup>AdditionalController

Conguration>SystemOptions>Network>TCP/IP>Advanced.

SettheRootPassword

ToaccesstheAxisproduct,youmustsetthepasswordforthedefaultadministratoruserroot.ThisisdoneintheCongureRoot

Passworddialog,whichopenswhentheproductisaccessedforthersttime.

Topreventnetworkeavesdropping,therootpasswordcanbesetviaanencryptedHTTPSconnection,whichrequiresanHTTPS

certicate.HTTPS(HypertextTransferProtocoloverSSL)isaprotocolusedtoencrypttrafcbetweenwebbrowsersandservers.The

HTTPScerticateensuresencryptedexchangeofinformation.SeeHTTPSonpage41.

Thedefaultadministratorusernamerootispermanentandcannotbedeleted.Ifthepasswordforrootislost,theproductmustbe

resettothefactorydefaultsettings.SeeResettoFactoryDefaultSettingsonpage50.

TosetthepasswordviaastandardHTTPconnection,enteritdirectlyinthedialog.

TosetthepasswordviaanencryptedHTTPSconnection,followthesesteps:

1.ClickUseHTTPS.

Atemporarycerticate(validforoneyear)iscreated,enablingencryptionofalltrafctoandfromtheproduct,andthe

passwordcannowbesetsecurely.

2.Enterapasswordandthenre-enterittoconrmthespelling.

3.ClickOK.Thepasswordhasnowbeencongured.
