AXIS Camera Station Service Control

Once satisﬁed with the changes click Save. You will be prompted to restart the service for the changes to take effect.

Database Backup

The databas e stores information about c onﬁgurations, recordings etc that is needed for AXIS Camera Station to work properly. The

database is backed up every night. The backups are saved to a Backup folder which can be located on the local computer or t he

network. To change the backup folder, click Browse and navigate to the desired location. The oldest backups will be deleted

afterthenumberofdaysspeciﬁed in Days to keep backups.

• The backup will be saved to the default location if it cannot be written to the folder speciﬁed, for example if the server

cannot access the folder. The default location is

Windows 7/Vista/Server 2008/Server 2003:

C:\ProgramData\Axis Communications\AXIS Camera Station Server\backup

Windows XP:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Axi s Communications\AXIS Camera Station Server\backup

• The backup ﬁles are named acs_system_<date_time>.fdb and license_system_<date_time>.fdb

• Recordings are stored in the location speciﬁed in Conﬁguration > Recording storage and not in the database, see Set Up

Recording Storage, on page 30. Recordings should be backed up separately.

Proxy Settings

If there is a direct connection with the cameras in the system the default D irect connection radio button should be selected. If

AXIS Camera Station Server is behind a proxy server, and devices are outside the proxy server, modify the proxy settings manually

by selecting Use manual proxy settings. The proxy settings entered here are generally the same as those entered in t

he Internet

Options in the Control Panel.

Check the box Bypass proxy for local addresses and enter local addresses or host names of local cameras where communication does

not nee d to pass through the proxy server. For more information, see Server Proxy Settings, on page 49.
