Video
• Antialiasing will minimize distortion known as aliasing, which happens when a high-resolution image is represented at
alowerresolution.
• For each video input 75 Ohm video termination can be enabled/disabled via the product's web page a t V ideo & Audio >
Video Input > Video termination. These terminations are enabled on fa ctory default. In cases where the product is to be
connected in parallel with other equipment, for optimum vide o quality, it is recom m ende d that ter m ination be en ab led for
only the last device in the video sig nal chain.
Image Settings
Noise reduction - Set to On to enable noise reduction. Noise reduction may increase the amo unt of motion blur.
Privacy Mask
A privacy mask is an ar ea of so lid color that prohibits us e rs from viewing parts of the monitored area. Privacy masks canno t b e
bypassed via the VAPIX® Application Programming Interface (API).
The Privacy Mask List (Video > Privacy Mask) shows all the masks that are currently configured in the Axis product and indicates
if they are enabled.
You can add a new mask, re-size the mask with the mouse, choose a color for the mask, and give the mask a name.

Adding many privacy masks may affect the product’s perform ance.

Privacy mask is not available for the quad stream. However, privacy masks configured o n e ach channel will be displayed
in the qua d.
Overlay
Overlays are used to provide extra information, for examp le for forensic video analysis or during product ins talla tion and
configuration. O verl ays are superimposed over the video stream.
An overlay tex t can display the cur rent date and time, or a text string. When u sing a text string, mod ifiers can be used to display
information s uch as the cur rent bit rate or the current frame rate. For information about available modifiers, see

in the online help .
To enable overlays:
1. Go to Video > Video Stream and select the Ima g e tab.
2. To include an o verlay image, select Include overlay image at the coordinates. The overlay image must first be uploaded to
the Axis produc

.
3. To include
date and time, select Include da te and Include time.
4. To inc
lude a text string, select Include text and enter the text in the field. Modifier s can be used, see

5. Select the text color, the text background color and the position of the overlay.
6. Click Save.
