Themountinglocationofthepoweramplifierwillhavealarge
effectbothonitsabilitytodissipatetheheatgeneratedduring
normaloperationthroughtheheatsinkandonthepossibletriggering
ofitsinternaloverheatprotectionshut-offcircuit.
Thereforeselectasuitablelocationthatisconvenientformountingand
accessibleforwiringandofferssufficientventilationforcooling.Asyour
amplifierfeaturesnocontrolsfornormaloperation,itmaybemounted
awayfromthedashboard,i.e.underacarseatorinthetrunk.However,
makesuretheunitisnotexposedtoexcessivedust,directsunlight,
humidity,water,oilorotherfluidsthatmayentertheamplifier.
Theamplifiershouldbemountedtoasolidsurfacethatwillensure
avibration-freemount.Oncethelocationisselected,usetheunit
asatemplateforthemarkingofthemountingholeswhichshouldalso
bepilot-drilledbeforemountingoftheampiscarriedout.
Securetheamplifierusingthefourscrews.Avoidtolettheam-
plifiergetintocontactwithmetalpartsofthevehicle.Thishelps
topreventunwantedgroundloops.
Pleasenote:wrongpowerorsignalconnectionsmaydamagetheam-
plifierandothercomponentsconnectedtoit.Therefore,pleaseread
thismanualcarefullybeforetheconnectionofanypower,signaland
speakerleadsisdone.
Thewireroutingiscriticalfornoise-freeperformance.Forbestresults,
pleasefollowthegeneralwiringguidelineslistedbelow(fordetailssee
sectionB,E,FandGofthismanual).
Foraudiosignalconnectionsyoushouldalwaysusedoubleor
tripleshieldedqualityRCAcables.
Signal,speakerandpowercablesshouldalwaysbekeptasshort
aspossible:
™ Speakerandpowercablesmaybecuttofittheactuallength
required.
™ ShieldedRCA/signalcablesshouldneverbecutandrespliced,
astheywillloosetheirprotectiveshieldingeffectatthosepoints
wheretheyhavebeencut.Ifthesignalcableistoolong,makean
S-typeloop(neveracoilloop)inthecentreofthecabletotake-up
theexcesslength.
Neverrouteanylowlevel/signalcablenearorparalleltospeaker
outputs/speakercables,amplifierpowercablesorhighenergy
ignitionwires.
Usepowercablewiththerecommendedcrosssection(see
sectionE).Smallcrosssectionsarereducingtheoutputpower,
arecausingdistortionsandmaybetriggeringtheoverheatprotection
oftheamplifier.
