TheHIGHPASSfilteringsetting(HPF)-ontherespectivecontrol-of
thesatellitechannelswillalsotakeawayunnecessarymechanicaland
electrical'strain'fromcoaxialspeakersorcomponentspeakersystems
(compos),assuchspeakersarenotdesignedtoreproducepowerful
basssignalsinthefirstplace.Dependingontheactualconesurface
area,voice-coildiameterandtheratedpowerhandlingofthe'satellites'
itisrecomenendedtosetthehiphpasscross-over/cut-infrequency
between40and240Hz.
Ifthesatellitehighpassfrequencyissettoolow,themid-bassrepro-
ductionwillbeincreased,butatthesametimethepower-handling
capacityofthesatelliteswilldecrease.Ifthehighpassfrequencyisset
toohigh,themid-bassreproductionwillbecome'thinner'whilethe
power-handlingcapacityofthesatelliteswillincrease.
