Meter Plugs are used to prevent the unintentional ow
of gas from meter sets without meters attached. They
also prevent insects and other foreign material from
entering the gas piping. They are available as shown,
or can be supplied with 1/8” or 1/4” pipe taps in the
center of the hex, with or without standard pipe plugs.
Gaskets are used to seal malleable iron offset or straight ttings on the face of the gas meter when tightening the swivel nut on meter
thread or meter nut plug. These rubber gaskets made of Buna-N or neoprene are resistant to the action of natural and manufactured
gases. The inside diameter is intended to lightly grip the pilot O.D. of the tting to minimize problems during assembly of the swivel nut
to the meter.
METER ADAPTERS - ZINC
The McDonald Meter Adapters are used to efciently convert
from one meter size to another. Each adapter comes with a
at gasket seal on the female end. In addition, each tting
is zinc plated for corrosion protection. The zinc is applied
after machining so the threads are also protected.
If you are converting meter sizes in your system, consider
these ttings for a cost effective approach. Manufactured
per ANSI B109.1.
