7.0 INSTALLATION 7.0 INSTALLATION
1. Safety Seat with Base: Make sure the
vehicle is parked on level ground. Lock
the Safety Seat onto the Base and
check that the Safety Seat is level side
to side on the vehicle seat (Fig. 51-1).
Check the Seat Angle Indicator that
matches the weight of your child.
• If the Seat Angle Indicator shows the
bubble centered between the lines,
the seat is installed at the proper level
of recline for occupants 4-22 lb.
(Fig 51-2).
• If the Seat Angle Indicator shows the
level line parallel with the ground, the
seat is installed at the proper level of
recline for occupants greater than 22
lb. to 35 lb. (Fig 52-3).
• If the Seat Angle Indicator level line
is not parallel with the ground, place
a rolled towel, or pool noodle, under
the front of the base at the foot end
to achieve the correct position (Fig.
51-4). See section 7.5 Elevation
Aids. Re-tighten the vehicle seat belt
as instructed in section, securing the
Safety Seat or Base in the Vehicle.

2. Safety Seat without Base:
Check that the Safety Seat is
level side to side on the vehicle
seat. Check the Seat Angle
Indicator that matches the
weight of your child (Fig. 52-1).

• If the Seat Angle Indicator line is not level, the Safety
Seat is either too upright or too reclined. If the Safety
Seat is too reclined adjust the Safety Seat as shown in
(Fig. 52-2), until the level indicator shows level. If the
Safety Seat is too upright, place a tightly rolled towel, or
pool noodle, under the foot end of the Safety Seat until
the level indicator shows level (Fig. 52-3). Re-tighten the
vehicle seat belt as instructed in section Securing the
Safety Seat or Base in the Vehicle.
