3.6 RECALIBRATION AFTER AN EFFICIENCY TEST
If you are unsure about the calibration of the analyzer after performing
an efficiency test, it can be recalibrated as follows:
NOTE: Recalibration is essentially the same as the initial
power-up calibration cycle, with the exception that the
recalibration cycle can be aborted at any time by pressing the
CAL key.
1. Remove probe from stack or flue.
2. If the probe is hot, allow the analyzer’s pump to operate in the run
mode until the probe stabilizes at room temperature.
3. Press RUN key to stop pump.
4. Place probe into the center of the furnace’s primary air inlet. If the
furnace is drawing in ambient air, you can sample room air for calibra-
tion purposes.
5. Press CAL key to start recalibration cycle. During recalibration, you
should see:
• Left display show CAL,
• Middle display show millivolt output of O
2
cell,
• Right display count down the calibration time.
6. At the end of a successful recalibration cycle, the left display should
read FUEL.
NOTE: If a W*CO warning occurred at the conclusion of the
recalibration cycle, due to the CO sensor not being completely
purged of flue gas, remove and then reapply power to the ana-
lyzer. Allow pump to run 5 minutes (longer if necessary) while
sampling fresh air to purge instrument of CO; then press CAL.
7. Press the FUEL key until the desired fuel appears in the left display.
Then press the RUN key to start efficiency testing.
