In some cases, the high, low, or previous readings may not be displayed. On the Settings screen in the Utilities section, there
are two choices that control the display of this screen. The high and low audit values will be displayed if you have chosen the
Show High / Low setting. The previous reading will be displayed if you have chosen the Show Previous Reading setting and
if the previous reading is passed from the billing software. If these settings are not chosen or if the billing software does not
support those features, you will not be able to view the associated information on the View High/Low screen.
Utilities
The Trimble Ranger may be set up to operate in a customized fashion to support the needs of the meter reading group. To
view or change the settings, tap the Menu button on the bottom of the account screen, then tap the Utilities button on the
screen from the Read Menu.
To access the function of the Utilities Menu, tap the appropriate button on the screen or press the corresponding letter key on
the keyboard. The functions of the Utilities Menu are:
• Progress “P – a display of meter reading statistics to help you determine how far along you are in the route
• Battery Info “B – this screen shows information being reported by the processor within the battery pack that might
be useful when investigating a problem
• Settings “S” – which displays the settings currently being used by the Trimble Ranger
• ”Close LEFT Soft Menu key – this function returns you to the Read Menu
Progress
Keeps records on the total number of meters, the number of meters read, the number of meters that failed to report, the num-
ber of tamper reports received, etc. If you wish to view this information, press the Utilities “U” button from the Read Menu
followed by the Progress “P button from the Utilities Menu.
The Progress screen displays these statistics:
• Total number of meters stored
• Current number of meters read/processed meters
• The total number of unread/unprocessed meters
• The total number of tampers
• The number of encoder errors
