BT1000 BOSSTM Tool Operating Manual BT1000 BOSSTM Tool Manual Installation Compressed Air Joining required: quick –disconnect coupling (female) for ¼” hose Recommended air pressure: 95 PSI working 105 PSI max. Maintenance Depending on the working conditions and the use of the tool, the following maintenance has to be made periodically: 1.
BT1000 BOSSTM Tool Operating Manual BT1000 BOSSTM Tool Manual Operation 1. Feeding the band (strap) Feed the band through the seal, around the parts/object to be strapped and again through the seal. The band end is then bent. The operator then tensions the loose loop manually making sure that the bent end is adjacent to the object to be strapped. Always wear safety glasses Always wear protective gloves when handling band/ strap 2.
BT1000 BOSSTM Tool Operating Manual BT1000 BOSSTM Tool Manual Operation 3. Tensioning the band/strap Press down the tension valve lever. The lever is caught completely and the band is tensioned until the air motor stalls. If the cycle has to be interrupted, the catch has to be released to the left. 4. Sealing the band The sealing valve lever is pressed down until the seal is notched and the upper band sealed; the tensioning process is interrupted (tension released) automatically. BT1000 BOSSTM Tool Operating Manual BT1000 BOSSTM Tool Manual Operation 5. Releasing the tool The tool can now be released from the strapping without any further action after completing the strapping cycle. By lifting the air motor, the band end is removed from the tool. 6. Tension adjustment The tension can be adjusted by adjusting the throttle screw. The air supply is reduced by turning the screw clockwise, hence reducing the tension. The throttle screw is located at the rear end of the air motor.
