4.1 Emier and Receiver Mounng
Banner MINI-ARRAY emiers and receivers are
small, lightweight, and easy to mount; the mounng
brackets (supplied) allow ±30 degrees rotaon.
From a common point of reference, make
measurements to posion the emier and receiver
in the same plane with their midpoints directly
opposite each other. Mount the emier and receiver
brackets using the M4 x 0.7 x 14 mm bolts and
associated mounng hardware (all supplied).
Although the internal circuitry of the emier and
receiver can withstand heavy impulse forces,
vibraon isolators can be used instead of the M4
bolts to dampen impulse forces and prevent possible
damage from resonant vibraon of the emier or
receiver assembly. Two dierent An-Vibraon
Mounng Kits are available from Banner. See
Accessories on page 30.

Figure 2. MINI-ARRAY emier and receiver mounng hardware
1. Mount the emier and receiver in their mounng brackets (see Figure 2 on page 10).
2. Posion the red lenses of the two units directly facing each other. The connector ends of both sensors must point in the same
direcon.
3. Measure from one or more reference planes (that is, the oor) to the same points on the emier and receiver to verify their
mechanical alignment. If the sensors are posioned exactly vercal or exactly horizontal, a carpenter’s level may be useful for
checking alignment. Extending a straight-edge or a string between the sensors may help with posioning.
4. Also check by eye for line-of-sight alignment.
5. Make any necessary nal mechanical adjustments, and hand-ghten the bracket hardware.
6. Prepare the cables: The “drain wire” is the uninsulated stranded wire which runs between the cable jacket and the foil shield.
Remove the foil shield at the point where the wires exit the cable.
