4.1 Emier and Receiver Mounng
Banner MINI-ARRAY emiers and receivers are
small, lightweight, and easy to mount; the mounng
brackets (supplied) allow ±30 degrees rotaon.
From a common point of reference, make
measurements to posion the emier and receiver
in the same plane with their midpoints directly
opposite each other. Mount the emier and receiver
brackets using the M4 x 0.7 x 14 mm bolts and
associated mounng hardware (all supplied).
Although the internal circuitry of the emier and
receiver can withstand heavy impulse forces,
vibraon isolators can be used instead of the M4
bolts to dampen impulse forces and prevent possible
damage from resonant vibraon of the emier or
receiver assembly. Two dierent An-Vibraon
Mounng Kits are available from Banner. See
Accessories on page 30.

Figure 2. MINI-ARRAY emier and receiver mounng hardware
1. Mount the emier and receiver in their mounng brackets (see Figure 2 on page 10).
2. Posion the red lenses of the two units directly facing each other. The connector ends of both sensors must point in the same
direcon.
3. Measure from one or more reference planes (that is, the oor) to the same points on the emier and receiver to verify their
mechanical alignment. If the sensors are posioned exactly vercal or exactly horizontal, a carpenter’s level may be useful for
checking alignment. Extending a straight-edge or a string between the sensors may help with posioning.
4. Also check by eye for line-of-sight alignment.
5. Make any necessary nal mechanical adjustments, and hand-ghten the bracket hardware.
6. Prepare the cables: The “drain wire” is the uninsulated stranded wire which runs between the cable jacket and the foil shield.
Remove the foil shield at the point where the wires exit the cable.
