This cross reference guide lists TAC DuraLynx Ball Valve Assemblies and Ball Valve Body/Linkage Assemblies,
Globe Linked Valve Assemblies, and TAC DuraDrive Actuator/Linkage Assemblies, which may replace obsolete
TAC Barber-Colman, Siebe Environmental Controls (SEC), and competitive devices. The replacement valves in this
list represent what we believe are equivalent units.
This guide is divided into two sections. The first section includes charts that explain the part numbering systems for
both the TAC DuraLynx Ball Valve Assemblies and the Linked Globe Valve Assemblies. The second section lists
Valve Assemblies, Actuator/Linkage Assemblies and Ball Valve Body/Linkage Assemblies. The Actuator/Linkage
Assembly cross-reference lists SEC model numbers alphanumerically in the left-hand column, with the suggested
replacements in the right-hand column. The Valve Assembly cross-reference categorizes model numbers by control
signal. Cross-references for both the Valve Assemblies and the Ball Valve Body/Linkage Assemblies list the Linked
Ball Valve Assemblies alphanumerically in the center column and the suggested replacements, TAC DuraLynx Ball
Valve Assemblies, in the right-hand column. Corresponding SEC model numbers are listed in the left-hand column.
Note:
Items listed do not necessarily have exactly the same physical size, flow capacity, pressure close-offs,
electrical ratings, etc. Emphasis was placed on providing a replacement valve of the same specifications wherever
possible. The user must determine the acceptability of the substitution by reviewing the valve specifications.
TAC assumes no responsibility for guaranteeing the acceptability of any suggested replacement in this guide.
TAC DuraLynx Ball Valve Assemblies and Ball Valve Body/Linkage
Assemblies
The TAC VA, VF, and VS-2X13-5XX-9-XX series TAC DuraLynx Ball Valve Assemblies are complete actuator/valve
assemblies that accept two-position, floating, or proportional control signals, respectively, from a DDC system or
from a thermostat, for control of hot water or chilled water, or solutions of up to 50% Glycol. These valve assemblies
are not recommended for steam applications. These assemblies consist of direct
-coupled spring return and
non
-spring return actuators mounted on 2-way (1/2" to 3") and 3-way (1/2" to 2") ball valve bodies. The Ball Valve
Body/Linkage Assemblies allow the field-mounting of TAC DuraDrive actuators.
Typical applications include reheat on VAV boxes, fan coil units, hot and chilled water coils in air handling units, and
unit ventilators.
Note:
The TAC DuraLynx Ball Valve Assemblies feature low-friction ball valves that allow the use of single TAC DuraDrive
actuators in all valve sizes. As a result, these single-mount units may be used in place of the earlier TAC Dual-Mount Linked Ball
Valve Assemblies, as listed in “Valve Assembly Cross Reference.
Linked Globe Valve Assemblies
The TAC VA, VF, and VS-7000 series Linked Globe Valve Assemblies are complete actuator/valve assemblies that
accept two position, floating, or proportional control, respectively, from a DDC system or from a thermostat, for
control of hot water, chilled water and steam coils. These valve assemblies consist of linked spring return and
non-spring return actuators mounted on 1/2" to 2" (15 mm to 50 mm), two-way and three-way, globe valve bodies.
The assembly is used for mixing and diverting applications, using a specially designed linkage assembly. This
linkage uses a rack and pinion mechanism to convert the rotary motion of the direct-linked actuator into the linear
motion necessary to lift or lower the valve stem.
Typical applications include reheat on VAV boxes, fan coil units, hot and chilled water coils in air handling units, and
unit ventilators.
