AC CONNECTION POWER SOURCE Use the AC polarized line cord for operation on AC power. Insert the AC plug into any convenient 120V 60Hz household outlet. NOTE: The AC plug supplied with the unit is polarized to help minimize the possibility of electric shock. If the AC plug does not fit into a nonpolarized AC outlet, do not file or cut the wide blade. It is the user’s responsibility to have an electrician replace the obsolete outlet.
OPTIONAL CONNECTIONS PHONE (Headphones) JACK For private listening, plug headphones into this jack. The speakers will be disconnected when a plug is inserted into this jack. AUX IN JACK Insert one end of the audio cable (included) into the LINE OUT jack on your external audio unit and the other end into the AUX IN jack on the rear of this unit. To listen to the external audio unit, turn this unit on using the STANDBY ON button. Turn on the external unit as well.
INSERTING AN iPod 1 2 (A) (B) (A) (B) Locate the correct Universal Dock to use as shown on page 21. Insert the Universal Dock (A) into the iPod compartment (B) (as shown), making sure the tabs are facing front, and slip the tabs into place. Press the rear side of the Universal Dock until it is positioned inside the iPod compartment. (B) Insert the iPod Support Bracket (A) into the two holes behind the iPod Compartment (B) (as shown).
OPERATION USING AN iPod WITH THIS UNIT 1 2 1 2 You can operate the iPod using its own controls, as per its owner’s manual, or you can use the controls on the main unit to operate the iPod. With an iPod connected (see previous page), if this unit is not already on, turn this unit on by pressing the STANDBY ON button 1. If you are not already in iPod mode, select “iPod” by repeatedly pressing the iPod/AUX/AM/FM button 2; “iPod” will appear in the display.
OPERATION (CONTINUED) ADJUSTING THE VOLUME 1 To adjust the volume: Rotate the VOLUME control as desired to increase and/or decrease the volume.
OPERATION (CONTINUED) USING THE RADIO 1 2 Turn this unit on by pressing the STANDBY ON button. 2 3 1 2 If you are not already in AM or FM mode, select “AM” or “FM” by repeatedly pressing the iPod/AUX/AM/FM button; “AM” or “FM” and the frequency will appear in the display. Rotate the TUNING control to manually advance the frequency in the display up or down until the desired frequency appears. NOTE: When a station is tuned, after approx.
OPERATION (CONTINUED) TO SET OR RESET THE ACTUAL TIME 1 2 2 1 Within 10 seconds, press the MINUTE/Skip/Search n button 1 to set the present minute and the HOUR/Skip/Search o button 2 to set the present hour. Make sure to set the correct AM/PM setting. With the power off, press the TIME SET button; the time will blink. 2 3 Press the TIME SET button (or wait approx. 10 seconds) and the time will be set.
OPERATION (CONTINUED) TO SET OR RESET THE ALARM TIME 1 2 With the power off, press the ALARM SET button; the Alarm time will blink in the display. Within 10 seconds, press the MINUTE/Skip/Search n button 1 to set the alarm minute and the HOUR/Skip/Search o button 2 to set the alarm hour. Make sure to set the correct AM/PM setting. Press the ALARM SET button 3 again.
5 OPERATION (CONTINUED) If set to iPod, insert the iPod as shown on page 11. Select your desired track and then make sure both your iPod and this unit are turned off. When the alarm time is reached, this unit will start playback on the track that you selected. NOTES: • If set to iPod but an iPod is not connected, the unit will automatically switch to wake to Buzzer. • Make sure to set the desired volume as shown on page 13. TO SHUT OFF THE ALARM, see TO SHUT THE ALARM OFF section on • the next page.
OPERATION (CONTINUED) TO SHUT THE ALARM OFF 1 1 2 2 To leave the alarm set for the next day, press the STANDBY ON button 1 or ALARM ON/OFF button 2 and the alarm will turn off but be set for the next day. To NOT set the alarm for the next day, press the ALARM ON/OFF button again to select alarm off (no indicator in the display). SNOOZE 1 While the alarm is sounding, press the SNOOZE button. The alarm will turn back on automatically nine minutes later until the SNOOZE function is cancelled.
SLEEP OPERATION (CONTINUED) 1 While the unit is on, press the SLEEP button; “SLEEP” will appear and "120" will blink in the display which indicates the SLEEP feature is on and set for 120 minutes (the unit will turn off automatically after 120 minutes). To set a shorter SLEEP time, press the SLEEP button again within five seconds to select 90 minutes; "90" will blink in the display. Repeat to select 60, 30, 20, 10 or 5 minutes.

TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE If you experience a problem with this unit, check the chart below before calling for service. SYMPTOM No sound. AM or FM, no sound. CAUSE SOLUTION Volume is set to minimum. Power is not on. Press the STANDBY ON button, then iPod/AUX/AM/FM button to select AM or FM. Volume is AM/FM, poor sound. Increase volume. set to minimum. Station is not tuned properly.
