6.12 Network integration, activation
Introduction
“ClickShare Network Integration ” aim s at deploying ClickShare in larger organizations with out interfering with the existing wireless
network infrastructure. In a default stand-alone setup, the ClickShare B ase Unit creates its own wireless access point (AP) w hich
the ClickS hare Buttons use to connect. T hese so-called “rogue” AP s can become a nuisance in larger installations. Nex t to t hat,
meeting participants who are sharing content from m obile devices have to switch n etworks to connect with the ClickShare Base Unit.
This is where ClickShare Network Integration comes in. Once fully congured and enabled, the built-in AP of the Bas e Unit is
disabled. The B utton or the mobile devices can then connect to a w ireless access point that is par t of the c orporate network. At this
point, the Base Unit needs to be connected to the corporate network via the wired Ethernet interface so that the Buttons and m obile
devices can share their content on the Base Unit.

Security modes
There are 2 security mode s supported by the B utton to connect to the c orporate network:
•Therst one, which applies to a typical corporate network setup, is W PA2-E nterprise with 802.1X.
As we also want to support smaller organizations, which might have a m ore traditional Wi-Fi setup, there is also support for
WPA2-PSK , also k nown as WPA2-Personal.
Both modes are based on Wi-Fi Protected Ac cess (WPA). We talk about WPA2, an improved ve rsion of the original WPA standard,
which adds AES encryption to im prove security.
