2. Hardware Installation Safety Precautions p~ÑÉíó=mêÉÅ~ìíáçåë= For all MatrixPRO 16x16 and 8x8 HD/SD-SDI Router installation procedures, observe the following important safety and handling rules to avoid damage to yourself and the equipment: • To protect users from electric shock, ensure that the power supplies for each unit connect to earth via the ground wire provided in the AC power Cord. • The AC Socket-outlet should be installed near the equipment and be easily accessible.
2. Hardware Installation Rear Panel Connectors oÉ~ê=m~åÉä=`çååÉÅíçêë The figures below illustrate the MatrixPRO 16x16 and 8x8 rear panels: 1 INPUT 1 3 5 7 9 OUTPUT 11 13 15 1 3 5 7 9 11 13 15 ETHERNET 2 4 6 8 10 12 14 16 2 4 6 8 10 12 14 16 RS-232/485 2 100-240 V 50-60 Hz 3.0 A 3 4 Figure 2-1. 2. Hardware Installation Rack-Mount Installation o~ÅâJjçìåí=fåëí~ää~íáçå MatrixPRO 16x and 8x Digital Router units are designed to be rack mounted. Please note the following important points: 10 • When rack mounting the unit, remember that maximum ambient operating temperature for the unit is 40 degrees C. • Leave at least one inch of space front and rear to make sure that the airflow through the fan and vent holes is not restricted.
2. Hardware Installation Power Cord/Line Voltage Selection mçïÉê=`çêÇLiáåÉ=sçäí~ÖÉ=pÉäÉÅíáçå The MatrixPRO 16x Matrix Switcher performs line voltage selection automatically. No user controls are required for line voltage selection. The AC power cords must be accessible so that the cords can be removed during field servicing. Warning When the MatrixPRO 16x16 HD/SDI SDI is used in the 230volt mode, a UL listed line cord rated for 250 volts at 15 amps must be used.
