Ordering Periodicals
For periodicals, you can purchase a single issue or a subscription:
• When you purchase a single issue, the current issue is delivered and downloaded to your
NOOK.
• When you purchase a subscription, you begin a 14-day free trial period. The current issue is
delivered and downloaded to your
NOOK. On the 15th day, your default credit card is charged.
• You cannot order back issues of periodicals, or begin subscriptions in the past.
• You cannot pre-order periodical issues or subscriptions.
Downloading Free eBooks
When you view item details for an eBook and the eBook is free, you “purchase” it just as you
would for an eBook that costs something. The only dierence is that there is no charge.
Downloading Free Samples
Some eBooks have a free sample you can download. The free sample is typically the first part of the
book.
If there is a free sample for an eBook, Get free sample is a choice in the menus. If you have already
downloaded the free sample, you cannot download it again (you don’t need to).
If you own an eBook, including one that is currently lent to a friend, you cannot download the free
sample.
Free Trials for Periodicals
When you purchase a subscription to a periodical for the first time, you automatically get a 14-day
free trial.
During the free trial period, your credit card is not charged. During the free trial period, you can
cancel your subscription and you will not be charged. If you cancel the subscription, you cannot
restart the free trial (but you can purchase the subscription).
If you do not cancel your subscription during the free trial period, you will continue to receive
issues and you will be charged for the subscription.
Content Delivery
eBooks and just-purchased issues of periodicals are delivered to your online digital library
immediately.
