Using Other Applications on Your NOOKcolor
Your NOOKcolor includes music players, a photo gallery, a contact management application for storing addresses and
phone numbers, and games such as Chess and Sudoko.
Your NOOKcolor includes the following applications:
• Contacts – a contact management application
• Gallery – an application for viewing and organizing photos that you load on your NOOKcolor
• LendMe™ – software for Barnes & Noble’s exclusive LendMe technology, which lets you lend and borrow
NOOKbooks
• Music – a music player for playing MP3 and AAC music files that you load on your NOOKcolor
• Pandora
®
Internet Radio – the mobile application for the Pandora music-streaming service
Viewing the Applications Installed on Your NOOKcolor
To see icons for all the applications on your NOOKcolor, do this:
1. Tap the arrow button in the status bar to open the Quick Nav Bar.
2. Tap the Extras icon.
Your NOOKcolor displays a grid showing the applications installed on your NOOKcolor.
Launching an Application
To launch an application, tap on its icon on the Extras screen.
Quitting an Application
To leave an application and return to other activities, do any of the following:
• Press the Home key to return to the Home Screen.
• Tap the Quick Nav arrow to call up the Quick Nav Bar, then select an icon such as Shop from the menu.
• Tap the Resume Reading icon (the outline of an open book) in the Status Bar.
You do not need to quit an application on NOOKcolor the way you would quit an application on a desktop com-
puter. Simply move to the next feature you want to use.
Working with Microsoft Oce Files
Your NOOKcolor can open Microsoft Oce files compatbile with Oce 2003 and Oce 2007. Files are readable,
not editable. Your NOOKcolor can read files in the following formats: xls, .doc, .ppt, .pps, .txt, .docm, .xlsm, .pptm,
.ppsx, .ppsm, .docx, .xlx, .pptx.
