User manual
Battery instructions
• Batteries should be kept out of the reach of children.
• Do not leave batteries lying around in the open; there is a risk of them being swallowed by
children or domestic animals. If swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.
• Replace at batteries in good time since at or old batteries can leak.
• Leaking or damaged batteries can lead to caustic burning of the skin. Therefore, use suitable
protective gloves.
• Liquids leaking from batteries are very chemically aggressive. Objects or surfaces coming
into contact with these liquids may be severely damaged. Therefore, store batteries in a
suitable location.
• Please pay attention to the correct polarity (plus/+ and minus/-) when inserting the batteries.
• Batteries must not be short-circuited, opened or thrown into a re. There is a danger of
explosion!
• Do not recharge normal, non-rechargeable batteries; there is a risk of explosion!
• Remove the batteries, if the device is not used over a longer period of time (e.g., storage). As
the battery ages, it poses a danger of leaking, which then can cause damage to the product!
For the environmentally friendly disposal of batteries and rechargeable batteries, please read
the chapter “Disposal”.
Getting started
It is possible to operate the radio-controlled thermometer and the outdoor sensor
with rechargeable batteries. However, the operating time and the display contrast,
are reduced by the lower voltage (battery = 1.5 V, rechargeable battery = 1.2 V).
Since rechargeable batteries are very sensitive to cold, the service life of the outdoor
sensor is reduced further during the winter. Thus, we recommend to operate both,
the radio-controlled thermometer and the outdoor sensor with high-quality alkaline
batteries to ensure long and reliable operation.
a) Inserting batteries in the radio-controlled thermometer
• Open the battery compartment on the back of the radio-controlled thermometer.
• Insert a battery of type AA/Mignon with correct polarity into the battery compartment (observe
positive/+ and negative/-). Close the battery compartment again.
• Immediately after the batteries are inserted, the radio-controlled thermometer/ briey shows
all display segments.
• The radio-controlled thermometer then starts the search for the radio signal of the outdoor
sensor; the reception symbol ashes. Do not press any button and do not move the radio-
controlled thermometer.
Insert the batteries in the outdoor sensor now; see next section.
b) Inserting batteries into the outdoor sensor
• Open the battery compartment of the outside sensor by pushing its cover downwards.
• Insert a battery of type AA/Mignon with correct polarity into the battery compartment (observe
positive/+ and negative/-). The transmitter LED on the front of the outside sensor glows for
approx. 4 seconds. Close the battery compartment again.
• The transmitter LED on the front of the outside sensor ashes briey during the sending
process (approximately every 45 seconds).
The brightness of the transmitter LED is very low.
• In case of reception problems, reduce the distance between the outdoor sensor and the
radio-controlled thermometer or select a different installation location. However, do not put
the outside sensor directly next to the radio thermometer (minimum distance 2 m). If the
outdoor sensor is too close to the radio-controlled thermometer, the radio signal cannot be
received very well.
The reception symbol of the radio-controlled thermometer is steady as soon as the outside
sensor is detected.
• With each transmission step of the outdoor sensor, the transmitter LED on the front side of
the outdoor sensor ashes briey.
• If the radio-controlled thermometer is not showing any measurement value from the outdoor
sensor after a few minutes, remove the batteries from the radio-controlled thermometer and
the outdoor sensor and repeat the steps described above.
Alternatively, you can start the sensor search manually, see the „Manual search for the out-
door sensor“ chapter.
c) Placement and installation
In the case of wall-mounting, be careful not to accidentally damage any power,
gas or water lines while drilling! Risk of fatal injury!
Make sure that the device is mounted properly and attached securely. If the
device falls, it may harm other people.
Operating instructions
Radio-controlled thermometer with outdoor sensor
Item no. 1586037
Intended use
The product is designed for displaying the inside and outside temperature as well as the indoor
humidity at the location of installation. The outdoor sensor included in the package transmits its
measured data wirelessly to the radio-controlled thermometer. Operation of the radio-controlled
thermometer and outdoor sensor requires two batteries each of the type AA/Mignon. Only
one battery may be used as a supply of power. Always observe the safety instructions and all
other information included in these operating instructions. Any use other than that described
above is not permitted and can damage the product. In addition, it can lead to hazards such
as short-circuiting, re, etc. This product complies with the applicable National and European
Regulations.

Explanation of symbols
The lightning symbol inside of a triangle is used when there is a potential risk of
personal injury, such as electric shock.
This symbol indicates specic risks associated with handling, operation or use.
The arrow symbol indicates special tips and operating instructions.
Safety instructions
The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to observe
these safety instructions! We do not assume any liability for any resulting
damage!
We shall not accept liability for damage to property or personal injury caused
by incorrect handling or non-compliance with the safety instructions. The
warranty/guarantee will be void in such cases.
• Unauthorised conversion and/or modication of the product is not allowed for safe-
ty and approval reasons. Never open/dismantle it (except as described in these
operating instructions for inserting/replacing the batteries).
• Do not use this product in hospitals or medical institutions. Although the outdoor
sensor emits only relatively weak radio signals, these may lead to the malfunction
of life-supporting systems. The same may also apply to other areas.
• The manufacturer is not responsible for incorrect displays or measured values and
any consequences which may arise thereof.
• The product is intended for private use and not suited for medical purposes or
informing the public.
• The product is not a toy and should be kept out of the reach of children. The
product contains small parts and batteries. Position the product so it is out of the
reach of children.
• The radio-controlled thermometer is only suitable for dry, enclosed indoor areas.
Do not expose it to direct sunlight, strong heat, cold, dampness or wetness; oth-
erwise it may be damaged.
• The outdoor sensor is suitable for operation in protected outdoor areas. It must not
be used in or under water, this will destroy it.
• Protect the product from strong vibrations, combustible gases, vapours and sol-
vents.
• Do not leave the packaging material carelessly lying around, since it could be-
come a dangerous plaything for children.
• Handle the product with care; it can be damaged by impacts, blows or falls even
from a low height.
