The outdoor sensor can be mounted on the wall through its rear opening using a nail, screw
or hook or by cable ties. But you can also put the sensor on a at surface. However, do not
lie the outer sensor at on the surface, as this will reduce the range. The outdoor sensor is
suitable for use in protected outdoor areas. It should be placed so that it is not exposed to
direct sunlight, since this can result in a false temperature reading. Precipitation falling on the
outdoor sensor will also lead to a false temperature reading, since this cools the housing.
Therefore, we recommend you choose the installation place carefully, so the outdoor sensor
measures the correct temperature.
The radio-controlled thermometer can be mounted on the wall through its rear opening using
a nail, screw or hook. Using a foldout stand, the radio-controlled thermometer can be placed
on a at stable surface. Protect valuable furniture surfaces by using a suitable mat to prevent
scratch marks.
The measurement display needs about 30 minutes to stabilise and show accurate
values.
Operation
The indoor temperature / indoor air humidity (IN) and the outdoor temperature (OUT) of the
external sensor are displayed in the display of the radio-controlled thermometer. The min/max
values to the respective display also appear.
a) Switching between temperature units °C/°F
Press the °C/°F key on the rear of the radio-controlled thermometer to change the display unit
for the temperature values.
b) Display of the minimum/maximum values
The minimum and maximum value for the outdoor temperature, the indoor temperature and the
indoor air humidity will be stored.
The HI/LOW 24HR indicator in the display is illuminated. The radio-controlled thermometer
shows the minimum and maximum values of the last 24 hours.
Press the HI/LOW key on the rear of the radio-controlled thermometer. The HI/LOW 24HR
indicator in the display is dark. The radio-controlled thermometer shows the minimum and
maximum values from the start of recording.
Press and hold the HI/LOW key for about 5 seconds to clear the stored minimum and maximum
values.
c) Manual search for outdoor sensors
Press and hold the two buttons HI/LOW and °C/°F simultaneously for 5 seconds. The receive
symbol in the display will then start ashing, the manual search for the outside sensor starts
and will last for 3 minutes. Do not press any button during the search process.
Range
The range of the radio signal transmission between outdoor sensor and radio clock under
optimum conditions is up to 100 m. This range specication, however is the so-called „free-eld
range“. But this ideal arrangement (e.g., radio-controlled thermometer and outdoor sensor on
a plain, even meadow without trees, houses, etc.) never exists in practice.
Due to the certain inuences on the wireless transmission, no specic range can be guaran-
teed. However, trouble-free operation is usually possible in a detached house.
The range can be signicantly reduced by proximity to cables, pipes, metal pieces, electronic
devices, and similar. Thick walls, steel construction, laminated insulated glass windows, etc.,
also reduce the range very signicantly. If you notice that the radio-controlled thermometer
does not contain any measured values of the outdoor sensor, check the condition of the bat-
teries in the outdoor sensor rst. Following that, select another location for the radio-controlled
thermometer and the outdoor sensor. If required, perform a manual search for the outdoor
sensor (see the „Manual search for the outdoor sensor“ chapter).
Maintenance and cleaning
a) General information
The product is maintenance-free for you; you should never dismantle it (except for inserting/
replacing the batteries as described in these operating instructions). Any maintenance or repair
work may be performed only by an expert.
The outside of the housing should only be cleaned with a clean, soft, dry cloth.
Do not use aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions that could dam-
age the housing (discolouring) or impair operation. Also, do not press too
hard on the display, as this may cause scratch marks or damage the display.
Dust can easily be removed using a clean, long-haired brush and a vacuum cleaner.
b) Replacing the battery
The battery needs changing in the radio-controlled thermometer, when the display contrast is
reduced considerably.
In that case, exchange the used/at batteries for new ones and dispose of the old batteries in
an environmentally correct way; see chapter „Disposal“.
Declaration of conformity (DOC)
We, Conrad Electronic SE, Klaus-Conrad-Straße 1, D-92240 Hirschau, hereby declare that this
product conforms to the 2014/53/EU directive.
The full text of the EU conformity declaration is available via the following Internet
address: www.conrad.com/downloads
Select the language by clicking a ag symbol and enter the order number of the
product in the search eld; then you will be able to download the EU declaration of
conformity in PDF format.
Disposal
a) General information
Electronic devices are recyclable material and do not belong in the household
waste. Please dispose of the product, when it is no longer of use, according to the
current statutory requirements.
Remove any inserted batteries and dispose of them separately from the product.
b) Disposal of used batteries/storage batteries
You, as end user are under legal obligation (Battery Regulation) to take back all used batteries
and rechargeable batteries, to dispose of them via domestic waste is not permitted!
Batteries/rechargeable batteries contain harmful materials and are labelled with the
symbol shown to indicate that disposal in the household waste is forbidden. The
symbols of the critical heavy metals are: Cd = Cadmium, Hg = Mercury, Pb = Lead.
You can return your used batteries/rechargeable batteries free of charge at the ofcial col-
lection points of your community, in our stores, or at places where batteries or rechargeable
batteries are sold!
That way you full your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environ-
ment!
