Turn this knob to select a Washing programme AND / OR to select a Drying programme, depending on the dirtiness of your laundry. To set the programme, first ensure that machine is OFF (i.e., the position of the ON/OFF button is out) and turn the knob clockwise until the needle points to the mark matching the programme you want to use.
2- Drying Timer (see page 23 for details on use). This knob adjusts the time of your drying programme for up to 140 minutes. NOTE : The Dryer can only be used when the half load selected. - button is pressed and the heat setting is 3 – Temperature Selector to be used in conjunction with the Washing programme selector (see page 16 for details on use). This knob adjusts the temperature of your wash or drying cycles. Always check the labels of your clothes before grouping them for a wash load.
Cautions and advice In order to get maximum satisfaction and performance from your washing machine, please ensure you follow the instructions given below: 9 Select the clothes load correctly and choose the appropriate programme. 9 Before opening the door, check that there is no water in the machine and the pilot light is off. 9 Put the washing products in the right proportion and in the right compartment. 9 Small garments, such as socks, belts, etc. are best put inside a bag to avoid their being lost.
Using your BWD12 NOTE: (*VERY IMPORTANT*) – You must ensure that the transportation bolts have been removed before you attempt to use your Washing Machine, OTHERWISE you will damage or destroy your appliance. See page 32 for instructions. Only once you are sure this has been done can you do the following: 1) Plug in your machine 2) Turn on the water supply Note on using your Washing Machine for the first time: There may be water left inside your machine after factory tests and trials.
Before Loading your Washing Machine NOTE: Before putting the clothes into the machine: o Separate the clothes into 3 lots (cotton, synthetics and wool). 9 Within each group, separate the coloureds from the whites. *NOTE – see next page for tips. 9 Once the clothes have been separated, you can put them into the drum of the washing machine, separately and according to colour and group, loose, piece by piece. Do not exceed the maximum weight of clothes as given below: Cotton Maximum: 4.
Tips for loading your laundry: : Never wash your white and coloured clothes together. Â Since your new coloured clothes may shed dye on the first wash, wash them separately. Â Be careful that no metal pieces are in the pockets of your clothes. There is the chance of rust residues coming off and causing stains. Â Zip-up and button your clothes. Â Remove the plastic or metal hooks of curtains or place them inside a washing bag and tie.
Filling your Washing Machine’s Dispenser Drawer with Detergent Dispenser Drawer The dispenser drawer consists of three compartments: 1) Pre-wash / Bio-wash Compartment This compartment should be used only when programmes involving pre-wash or biowash have been selected. The amount of power used will depend on the fabric type to be washed. We recommend following the detergent manufacturer’s directions.
HOW MUCH DETERGENT SHOULD I USE? NOTE: You will need more detergent for washing cycles containing dirtier clothes. o For very dirty clothes, select a programme with prewashing, fill compartment 1 with ¼ of the amount of the detergent you are putting in compartment 2. o For clothes that are only slightly dirty, do not prewash and put only a small amount of detergent into compartment 2 in your washing machine’s dispenser drawer. CAUTION: Only use detergents for automatic washing machines.
Tips on washing your clothes. Dirtiness Sort the clothes according to dirtiness. Give special treatment to those which are very dirty or have got difficult stains. Treat very dirty areas like collars and cuffs before washing. Wash clothes that are only slightly dirty in short programmes. In this way, you will save energy as well as get better results. Wash averagely dirty clothes in a normal wash programme. Wash very dirty clothes in a Long Programme with a Prewash.
THE PROGRAMME KNOB With the programme knob, you can select the programme you’d like to wash your clothes with. You can adjust the programme selection process by turning the programme knob clockwise. NEVER TURN IT ANTICLOCKWISE. You must be careful that the marker on the programme Knob points exactly to the programme you want to select.
KEY to Programmes o 1 & 6 PREWASH THE PREWASH SHOULD BE SELECTED WHEN YOU WANT TO WASH HEAVILY SOILED ITEMS. o The Prewash cycle (1) can be selected when using Programme ‘1’ ( ) on the dial. NOTE: This is for white cotton and linen articles that do not have a special finish. o The Prewash cycle (6) can be selected when using programme ‘6’ ( ) on the dial. Use this setting for white nylon polyester cotton mixtures. o Rinse and Spin (3 & 8).
THE WASHING TEMPERATURE KNOB Next, use the Temperature Selector to get the temperature you would like to use in your programme. Turn the knob clockwise (NEVER ANTICLOCKWISE). You can select a temperature between 30 and 95◦C. Please refer to the label chart on page 10 to see what is best for the clothes in your wash load. * NOTE: If you turn the Program Knob to the STOP position while your machine is running, you will end the washing cycle prematurely.
Interrupting a Programme You can interrupt a programme at any time by pressing the ‘ON/OFF’ button. Simply do this and wait two minutes if you have to add or remove garments. Caution: Be careful that the water level inside the drum is not too high and that the temperature is not very hot. To resume, once you have re-closed the door, simply press the ‘ON/OFF’ button once again. The programme will pick up where it had left off.
HALF LOAD. Use this feature when you only have a half load (i.e., your laundry takes up no more room than half the space of the drum). This feature uses less water, thereby saving water and electricity. SPIN DELAY Pressing this button will stop the wash cycle after the rinse cycle but before the spin cycle begins. This option is good for drip dry, crease resistant and easy care items of laundry. ON/OFF BUTTON When this button is pushed in, your washer dryer is ON.
NORMAL WASHING – RIGHT HAND SIDE OF KNOB N.
DELICATE WASHING – LEFT HAND SIDE OF KNOB N.
At the end of a Wash Programme NOTE : YOU CAN ONLY SET YOUR APPLIANCE TO WASH AND DRY A WASHLOAD BEFORE A WASHING CYCLE IF YOU HAVE SET A HALF LOAD PROGRAMME AND ARE WASHING A HALF LOAD OF LAUNDRY. YOU CANNOT DEFEAT THIS RESTRICTION BY PLACING A FULL LOAD AND SELECTING THE HALF LOAD BUTTON. Provided the programme completes without interruptions, you can open the loading door 2 minutes after it has completed. Take out your clothes.
• • Select the washing programme, remembering that your appliance will not perform a drying cycle if the wool programme has been selected. To start the machine, press the ‘ON/OFF’ button. • At the end of the wash and dry programme, the timer knob will stop at position “0”. • Press the ON/OFF button and disconnect from the power supply. • Remove your dried wash load.
TO USE THE DRYER: 1) Place or leave a maximum of 2kgs of clothes in the drum of your appliance. 2) Select the required heat level either on FULL HEAT for normal fabrics or HALF HEAT for delicates. 3) Turn the dryer timer to the required time. Note the knob can be set up to a maximum of 140 minutes but we suggest that you select a lower time of approximately 30/40 minutes firstly. You can check if the laundry is dry and, if not, add more minutes as needed to prevent your clothes from being overdried.
MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING: Please note: Disconnect the power supply before attempting maintenance or cleaning your washing machine. Cleaning the outlet filter. If you are using the drying feature on your appliance, you will need to clean this out after every 3-4 washes. If you have been drying clothes that will leave a lot of fluff or lint, you will then need to clean this filter out after each such cycle.
Cleaning the Detergent Drawer DETERGENT DRAWER Detergents may form sediment in your detergent drawer or in the housing of the detergent drawer over time. • To clean the sediment, pull out the detergent drawer from time to time. To pull out the detergent drawer: • Pull the detergent drawer to the end. (Diagram 1) • Lift the front of the drawer and pull it out (Diagram 2) • After the drawer has dried off, put it back into its housing the same way you had pulled it out.
Cleaning the Cabinet 9 Clean the exterior surface of your machine with lukewarm water and a cleaning substance that will not harm or scratch the cabinet. After rinsing with clean water, wipe it with a soft and dry cloth. PLEASE NOTE: If your appliance is installed in a location where the ambient temperature can fall below 0 °C, do the following (once before you know your machine will be unused for a long time). o Plug in your Washer-dryer.

INSTALLING YOUR BWD12 Washer / Dryer Before installing, it is very important that you familiarise yourself with your Washing Machine’s dimensions.
TO INSTALL THE DÉCOR DOOR (FASCIA) NOTE: Before installing your décor door, you will have to decide whether you want it to open to the LEFT or to the RIGHT. 1. Using the supplied template, mark the points where you are going to drill the holes to attach the décor door. Taking a drill, make two holes of 2mm diameter and one hole of 3.5mm diameter in the places illustrated below. Then attach the hinges with screws. Shown below is the version opening to the RIGHT.
If you want the décor door to open to the right, take a 1.2mm drill bit & make a hole as shown in the illustration below. ‘B’ (pictured below) is a door magnet. Now you will need to fit the anchoring lugs, screwing each one in as shown in the illustration below.
If, however, you want to have your door opening to the left, you reverse the procedure as shown in the procedure for the door opening to the right at bottom of page 33. Now you have to fit the anchoring lugs for the door. IMPORTANT Please note that in the case of attaching the door so that it opens to the left, the top left hand anchoring lug is to be fitted into the position shown in the illustration to the left (5B).
Now, you are ready to fix the décor door to your washing machine. The illustration to the left shows the correct positioning for the door opening to the left. Or, if installing so that the door opens to the right, follow the installation instructions as shown in the picture on the right.
ADDING THE TOP COVER TO YOUR WASHING MACHINE For installing your washing machine in some spaces, you may need to lower its height as much as possible. In addition to adjusting its height by turning its feet, you can also replace the top of your appliance with an optional lower one. To do this: 1. Remove the old top (A) by unscrewing the screws that fasten it to the machine. 2. Remove the screws and clasps from the cavity at the top of your washing machine. 3.
ADJUSTING THE FEET CAUTION : o DO NOT INSTALL YOUR MACHINE ON RUGS OR CARPETS. o FOR YOUR WASHING MACHINE TO WORK SILENTLY & WITHOUT ANY VIBRATION, YOU SHOULD POSITION IT ON FLAT, NON-SLIPPERY & TOUGH GROUND. o YOU CAN ADJUST YOUR WASHING MACHINE’S LEVEL BY TURNING ITS FEET EITHER UPWARDS OR DOWNWARDS (Please see DIAGRAM below). 1) FIRSTLY, LOOSEN THE PLASTIC ADJUSTMENT NUT. 2) AFTER YOU’VE REACHED THE LEVEL YOU WANT, TIGHTEN THE PLASTIC ADJUSTMENT NUTS AGAIN BY ROTATING THEM UPWARDS (ONE FOR EACH FOOT).
• To prevent leakage from the connection joints, a seal (for machines with cold water inlet only) or seals (for machines with hot & cold water inlets) are included in the hose packing. Fit these seals at the end of the water inlet hoses on the tap side. If your sink only has a mixing tap, use only one hose and connect it to the cold water valve of the machine. In this case, screw on the supplied cap to close the hot water valve.
