Setting the time of day After setting your oven for manual operation, you should also set the time of day. o Use the minus button (10) and plus button (11) to adjust the time that appears in the display. After getting the display to the correct time, release the minus and plus buttons. After five seconds the time will fix in the display and you will be able to use your oven. o The manual operation symbol (14) will light on the oven programmer/timer display.
Setting the minute minder function You are able to set the minute minder at any time, regardless of whether an oven function has been selected. You can set a period of time using the minute minder function and an alarm will sound when this period of time has elapsed. o Press the minute minder button (6), the display will show a value of 00:00. Set the period of time that you wish the minute minder to countdown for, by using the minus (10) and plus (11) buttons.
Setting the duration function This function will allow you to set a countdown time similar to the minute minder function. However the oven will no longer continue to heat, once the countdown period has elapsed. o Use the oven function selector knob (1) to select the mode of cooking that you require. o Use the thermostat control knob (5) to set the temperature that you require. The manual operation symbol (14) will appear on the display.
Setting the end cook function This function is similar to the duration function, however instead of selecting a period of time that you wish the oven to switch off after. You select the time of day that you wish the oven to switch off at. o Use the oven function selector knob (1) to select the mode of cooking that you require. o Use the thermostat control knob (5) to set the temperature that you require. The manual operation symbol (14) will appear on the display.
Setting the start and end time function This function will allow you to set a time in the future that the oven switches on at and a time that the oven will switch off at. o Use the oven function selector knob (1) to select the mode of cooking that you require. o Use the thermostat control knob (5) to set the temperature that you require. The manual operation symbol (14) will appear on the display. o Press the duration button (7) and the display will show a value of 00:00.
Adjusting the audible signal o The audible signal has three different settings, low, medium and high. o To adjust the level of the audible signal, make sure that the timer is in manual mode. Then press and hold the minus button and you will hear the current level that is set. o Press the minus button again and the audible signal will adjust to the next level. o When the required level of audible signal is reached, release the minus button and it will be set.
LOWER ELEMENT: This method of cooking uses the lower element to direct heat upward to the food. For slow-cooking recipes or for warming up meals. CONVENTIONAL OVEN (top and lower element): This method of cooking provides traditional cooking, with heat from the top and lower elements. This function is suitable for roasting and baking on one shelf only.
Oven operating light This light will come on to indicate that the oven’s heating elements are in operation. The light will turn off when the temperature set on the thermostat control knob has been reached. It will cycle on and off throughout the cooking time. You should not place food inside the cavity, until the correct cooking temperature has been reached. Cooking guidelines o Please refer to the information given on food packaging for guidance on cooking temperatures and times.
Warnings o Keep the oven door closed when using any of the cooking functions, including the grill functions. o Do not use aluminium foil to cover the grill pan or heat items wrapped in aluminium foil under the grill. The high reflectivity of the foil could potentially damage the grill element. o You should also never line the base of your oven with aluminium foil. o During cooking, never place pans or cookware directly onto the bottom of your oven. They should always be placed on the shelves provided.
Cleaning and maintenance External cleaning operations must only be carried out when the oven is cool and with the appliance disconnected from your mains supply. o The oven should be thoroughly cleaned before it is operated for the first time. The pyrolytic cleaning process listed below should be followed AT LEAST once a month or more frequently if there have been food spillages inside of the cavity.
o After the set time period has elapsed, the oven door will remain locked until the oven temperature has fallen below 300°C. o When the oven has reached a warm temperature, you should use a soft damp cloth to wipe out the resultant ash deposits. For best cleaning results, you should not allow the oven to get completely cold before wiping away the ash deposits. o When the pyrolytic cleaning cycle has completed, the oven will switch off and an alarm will sound.
Replacing the oven bulb IMPORTANT: The oven must be disconnected from your mains supply before you attempt to either remove or replace the oven bulb. o Remove all oven shelves, the drip tray and the side rack that is on the same side as the oven light. o Remove the clockwise. light cover by turning it anti- o Unscrew the bulb clockwise and remove it from its holder. o Replace the bulb with a 25 W/500°C, screw type pigmy. o Do not use any other type of bulb. o Place the lamp cover back into position.
Removing the oven door for cleaning To facilitate the cleaning of the inside of the oven and the outer frame of the oven, the door can be removed as follows:o The hinges (A) have two movable bolts on them (B). o If you raise both of the movable bolts (B), then the hinges (A) are released from the oven housing. o You should grip the sides of the door at the centre and then incline it slightly towards the oven cavity and then by pulling it gently away from the oven cavity.
Removing the inner door glass for cleaning o Do not use any abrasive cleaner that could cause damage. o Remember that if the surface of the glass panel becomes scratched, this could lead to a dangerous failure. o To facilitate cleaning, the inner door glass can be lifted out. o To facilitate cleaning, the door glass can be lifted out. o Open the door of the oven to a 45° angle. o There is a plastic sealing section at the top of the oven door, which has 4 small slots in it.
o Repeat this process for the other slots and you will be able to lift the plastic sealing section away from the top of the door. o This will allow you to access the inner door glasses. o Carefully slide out the middle door glasses to remove them from the oven door. IMPORTANT: Remember where each panel of glass is removed from so you can reassemble the door correctly. Do not mix the glasses up or rearrange the order.
INSTALLATION The installation must be carried out by a suitably qualified person, in accordance with the current version of the following. o UK Regulations and Safety Standards or their European Norm Replacements. o Building Regulations (issued by the Department of the Environment). o Building Standards (issued by the Scottish Development Department). o IEE Wiring Regulations. o Electricity At Work Regulations.
Installing the oven into the kitchen cabinet Positioning the appliance o Ensure that the aperture that you will be fitting the oven into is of the size given in the above diagram. o The oven must be fitted into an oven housing with the ventilation cut-outs shown in the “Ventilation requirements” section on the next page. o Ensure that the rear panel of the furniture housing unit has been removed.
Ventilation requirements (Figure shows the ventilation and cut-out requirements for the installation of the appliance into a standard kitchen unit). (Figure shows the ventilation and cutout requirements for the installation of the appliance into a tall housing unit). o Ensure that the oven has been securely fixed into the housing unit. The fixing of the oven into the housing is made by using four screws. These should be screwed through the oven cabinet and into the housing unit.
My appliance isn’t working correctly o The oven isn’t coming on. * Check that the oven is in manual operation mode. * Check that you have selected a cooking function and a cooking temperature. o There appears to be no power to the oven and grill. * Check that the appliance has been connected to the electrical mains supply correctly. * Check that the mains fuses are in working order.
* Refer to page 22 and follow the “Replacing the oven bulb” section. o I am getting condensation in my oven. * Steam and condensation is a natural by product of cooking any food with high water content, such as frozen food, chicken etc. * You may get condensation in the oven cavity and forming between the oven door glasses. This is not necessarily a sign that the oven is not working correctly. * Do not leave food in the oven to cool after it has been cooked and the oven has been switched off.
