Setting and using the oven programmer/timer Setting the time of day and selecting manual operation mode After your appliance is connected to your mains supply for the first time, the numbers on the LCD display will flash 00.00. Before you can select a cooking function or set a temperature, you must set the appliance into “manual operation” mode and set the time of day. o To select manual operation mode, press the duration and cooking end time buttons simultaneously.
o Outer parts of the oven should be cleaned with warm soapy water, using either a sponge or soft cloth. No abrasive cleaners should be used. o We would recommend that an appropriate stainless steel cleaner and polish is regularly used on the stainless steel surfaces of this appliance. Setting the minute minder function You are able to set the minute minder at any time, regardless of whether an oven function has been selected.
Setting the duration function This function will allow you to set a countdown time similar to the minute minder function. However the oven will no longer continue to heat, once the countdown period has elapsed. o Use the oven function selector knob to select the mode of cooking that you require. o Use the oven thermostat control knob to adjust the oven to the temperature that you require. o It is then possible to set the duration of the cooking time that you require.
Setting the end cook function This function is similar to the duration function, however instead of selecting a period of time that you wish the oven to switch off after. You select the time of day that you wish the oven to switch off at. o Use the oven function selector knob to select the mode of cooking that you require. o Use the oven thermostat control knob to adjust the oven to the temperature that you require. o It is then possible to set the duration of the cooking time that you require.
Setting the start and end time function This function will allow you to set a time in the future that the oven switches on at and a time that the oven will switch off at. o Use the oven function selector knob to select the mode of cooking that you require. o Use the oven thermostat control knob to adjust the oven to the temperature that you require. o Press the duration button and the display will show a value of 00:00.
Cancelling an automatic cooking function If an automatic cooking function has been set and you wish to use the oven in manual operation mode, you will need to cancel the automatic cooking function. o To select manual operation mode, press the duration and cooking end time buttons simultaneously. o The “A” symbol will disappear from the LCD display and the “manual operation” symbol will appear instead.
OVEN LIGHT: Separate light control which allows the light to be switched on, even when the oven is not cooking. CONVENTIONAL OVEN (top and lower element): This method of cooking provides traditional cooking, with heat from the top and lower elements. This function is suitable for roasting and baking on one shelf only. LOWER ELEMENT ONLY: This method of cooking uses the lower element to direct heat upwards to the food. For slowcooking recipes or for warming up meals.
Thermostat control knob The oven thermostat control knob sets the required temperature of the oven. It is possible to regulate the temperature within a range of 50 - 250°C. Turn the control knob clockwise. Oven operating light This light will come on to indicate that the oven’s heating elements are in operation. The light will turn off when the temperature set on the thermostat control knob has been reached. It will cycle on and off throughout the cooking time.
o If there is no guidance given on the food packaging specifically for cooking in fan oven mode, you can generally reduce the cooking time and temperature by 10% from the information given for conventional oven cooking. o Make sure that frozen foods are thoroughly thawed before cooking, unless the instructions on the food packaging advise that you can “cook from frozen”. o Before cooking, check that any accessories that are not required are removed from the oven.
Accessories Your oven will come supplied with the following oven furniture: o 2 safety shelves (A) o Removable side racks, which allow you to cook on four different levels (B) o 1 enamelled baking tray (C) o Trivet Using the grill o Place the trivet in the baking tray and then position the baking tray in the highest shelf position. o All grill functions must be carried out with the oven door closed.
Using the rotisserie o Insert the spit rod (A) into the drive unit. Then insert the groove (B) into the bend (C). o Turn the plastic handle (D) anticlockwise, and then slide the rack into the oven runners. o IMPORTANT: You must ensure that the rod (E) slots into the relevant hole in the oven cavity (F). o The spit rack must ALWAYS be fitted into the middle of the oven.
Cleaning and maintenance External cleaning operations must only be carried out when the oven is cool and with the appliance disconnected from your mains supply. o The oven should be thoroughly cleaned before it is operated for the first time. Your appliance is fitted with stay clean liners on the sides and back of the oven cavity. The stay clean liner cleaning process listed below should be followed once a week or more frequently if there have been food spillages inside of the cavity.
General cleaning information o Never clean any of the oven surfaces by steam cleaning. o The base of the oven cavity and the area above the removable oven roof liner should only be cleaned with warm soapy water, using either a sponge or soft cloth. No abrasive cleaners should be used. o Outer parts of the oven should only be cleaned with warm soapy water, using either a sponge or soft cloth. No abrasive cleaners should be used.
Replacing the oven bulb IMPORTANT: The oven must be disconnected from your mains supply before you attempt to either remove or replace the oven bulb. o Remove all oven shelves, the drip tray and the side rack that is on the same side as the oven light. o Remove the light cover by turning it anti-clockwise. o Unscrew the bulb clockwise and remove it from its holder. o Replace the bulb with a 25 W/300°C, screw type pigmy. o Do not use any other type of bulb. o Place the lamp cover back into position.
Removing the oven door for cleaning To facilitate the cleaning of the inside of the oven and the outer frame of the oven, the door can be removed as follows:o Open the door of the oven fully. o The hinges (A) have two movable bolts on them (B). o If you raise both of the movable bolts (B), until they sit into the area marked as (C) in the drawing above. Then the hinges (A) are released from the oven housing.
Removing the inner door glass for cleaning o Do not use any abrasive cleaner that could cause damage. o Remember that if the surface of the glass panel becomes scratched, this could lead to a dangerous failure. o To facilitate cleaning, the inner door glass can be lifted out. You should open the oven door fully and find the two indents indicated by the arrows in the picture below. Use a coin and push it into each indent, pushing the coin upwards to pop the inner door glass away from the door frame.
Before connecting the appliance, make sure that the supply voltage marked on the rating plate corresponds with your mains supply voltage. WARNING: THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED. o This appliance should be wired into a 13 A double pole switched fused spur outlet, having 3 mm contact separation and placed in an easily accessible position adjacent to the appliance. The spur outlet must still be accessible even when your oven is located in its housing.
Installing the oven into the kitchen cabinet Positioning the appliance o Ensure that the aperture that you will be fitting the oven into is of the size given in the above diagram. o The oven must be fitted into an oven housing with the ventilation cut-outs shown in the “Ventilation requirements” section on the next page. o Ensure that the rear panel of the furniture housing unit has been removed.
Ventilation requirements (Figure shows the ventilation and cut-out requirements for the installation of the appliance into a standard kitchen unit). (Figure shows the ventilation and cutout requirements for the installation of the appliance into a tall housing unit). o Ensure that the oven has been securely fixed into the housing unit. The fixing of the oven into the housing is made by using four screws. These should be screwed through the oven cabinet and into the housing unit.
My appliance isn’t working correctly o The oven isn’t coming on. * Check that the oven is in manual operation mode. * Check that you have selected a cooking function and a cooking temperature. o There appears to be no power to the oven and grill. * Check that the appliance has been connected to the electrical mains supply correctly. * Check that the mains fuses are in working order.
o The oven light is not working * Refer to page 23 and follow the “Replacing the oven bulb” section. o I am getting condensation in my oven * Steam and condensation is a natural by product of cooking any food with high water content, such as frozen food, chicken etc. * You may get condensation in the oven cavity and forming between the oven door glasses. This is not necessarily a sign that the oven is not working correctly.
