place every day
Millions of cards are being handled by dirty or
greasy fingers. The grease and dirt wears off
the cards and settles inside the card reading
machines. The settlements grow thicker and
thicker and will inevitably prevent the reading
mechanism and the mechanic wheels from
working properly.
This is why it is essential to clean the readers on a
regular basis. AM Denmark provides a wide range

Music that skips, images that freeze, sections that disappear,
games that block….it is most certainly your disc needs to
be cleaned.
Optical discs - why they don’t work
The laser beam is reflected in plastic surfaces. A scratch most often takes the
form of a V-shaped groove on the surface of the plastic. When the laser runs over
the scratch, an erroneous reading takes place. Most of the disc players today can
compensate for some erroneous reading; however the more numerous and the
worse the scratches, the poorer the reading.
With sufficiently many or deep scratches, it is no longer possible to play the disc.
Scratches in the direction of play are the worst, since they confuse the player to the
maximum extent. Scratches on the image side ruin the reflective effect and thus the
reading. Dirt can have the same effect as scratches.
As a rule, it is enough to clean a disc, however if the disc is scratched it can in most
cases be repaired. AM offers a number of products for both the cleaning and the
repair of discs.
