Switching the speed limits display on/off
If the speed limits display is ON, the system will inform you
of the maximum permissible speed limit for the route along
which you are travelling during route guidance, insofar as this
information is available.
Set and confirm
! in the System Settings menu.
If, when the speed limit display is ON, you travel along a
route with a speed limit and this speed limit is stored on the
navigation CD, the corresponding symbol will appear on the
right-hand side of the display indicating the speed limit.
The distance to the next point at which for example a turn
should be made is displayed below the navigation arrow,
which appears in reduced format.
On routes with variable speed limits (dependent on weather
conditions, etc.), a symbol with the text
@5Y draws the driv-
er’s attention to the fact that the speed limit is variable.
Dear Customer
You will have no problem finding any destination in Europe
with your navigation package for the BECKER navigation
system. The Tele Atlas data featured in the system enables the
maximum permissible speed for the motorway on which you
are travelling to be displayed on-screen.
In order to provide this unique service, Tele Atlas has
recorded more than 26,000 speed limits covering almost
100,000 kilometres of motorway across Europe. Of these
26,000 speed limits, 14,000 are constant and 12,000 are
variable. Variable speed limits may for example be
determined by the weather or time of day and appear on the
system display underlined (e.g.: "80
") or are controlled by
traffic regulations, in which case they appear in the system as
"dyn".
As temporary speed limits (e.g. due to road works) are usually
short-lived, these have not been included on the CD.
