A regional identification is displayed if regional programmes are broadcast
within the programme range of the selected transmitter. The abbreviation 53
indicates that the selected transmitter is able to broadcast regional
transmissions. In this case, the RDS - diversity function is restricted to the
selected regional area.
Pressing the multifunction button “53” enables a choice between 5(*21
(regionalisation switched on) and 5(*2)) (regionalisation switched off).
The RDS - diversity function is independent of region. Switching between
various regional transmitters can occur in this mode. Regional operation must
be selected again if this phenomenon occurs.

