How do I detect and prevent Hyperglycemia?
1. Check blood glucose levels often
2. Notify your Healthcare Provider when your blood glucose is
above the targeted range for more than 2-3 readings in a
row
3. Drink fluids without sugar and check blood glucose levels often
Signs and symptoms of Hyperglycemia:
Increased thirst
Weakness, stomach
pains, general aches
Heavy, labored breathing
Fatigue
Loss of appetite, nausea,
and vomiting
Large amounts of sugar
in the blood
Frequent urination
Ketones in the urine
