1.1 Sick days

In this section:
This section provides information and tips about using BD Strive™
when you are sick.
When you are sick, your body releases stress hormones that help
your body fight against your illness, but they will also raise your
blood glucose.
IMPORTANT: If not treated quickly, high blood glucose
levels caused by illness can lead to more serious problems like
Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA) or Hyperosmolar Hyperglycemic
State (HHS).
Airport security:
In the United States: Make TSA workers aware that you have
diabetes and are carrying medical supplies. Unused syringes and
insulin IDD supplies are permitted when accompanied by insulin
or other injectable medication. Medication and related supplies
are normally X-rayed.
Outside the United States:
Check with your airline before your trip.
