1.1 Glossary
The table in this section defines terms used in this User Guide.
Term Definition
Adhesive patch
Medical adhesive that keeps your device
attached to your body for up to 3 days.
Adverse reaction
An unwanted eect caused by a drug
or medical device.
Alert status icon
The “!” icon means the IDD Status has changed
and needs attention, Tapping the icon will
provide more information about the alert.
Aseptic
technique
A method for maintaining sterilization and
preventing contamination.
Basal insulin
rate
The insulin dose that is delivered at a low volume
every few minutes, at a pre-set rate to keep
blood glucose level between meals and during
the night.
Battery life
indicator
Located on the screen’s bottom left which will
notify you when the battery life is low. Batteries
should be replaced approximately every 3 weeks.
Blood sugar
target goals
The range your blood glucose should fall into
most of the time. Your blood sugar goals should
be determined by you and your health care
provider.
