i. Turn vial and syringe upside

down together.

j. Slowly pull plunger out

until top ring of plunger

aligns with the 3-day insulin

amount you were prescribed.

WARNING:

If you see air bubbles (larger than a grain

of rice):

a) Tap syringe with your ﬁnger to move

bubbles to the top.

b) Push plunger to push air back into vial.

c) Pull plunger out again to withdraw insulin.

k. Make sure there are no bubbles in the syringe that are larger

than a grain of rice. If there are, follow instructions above.
