4. Important safety instructions
Intended use
1.
This utensil is only intended for domestic use. Commercial use prohibited.
2.
This utensil is intended for toasting bread and, in conjunction with the bread roll
rack, bread rolls.

Particular care should be taken if the utensil is used near children.
4.
The utensil should be placed beyond the reach of children.
5.
Keep children away from the packaging. Dangers can include suffocation!
HAZARD FROM ELECTRICITY

To avoid the risk of fire, electric shock and personal injury, do not use the utensil
in the open air, and do not immerse it in water or other liquids.
7.
Before connecting the utensil to your power supply, you should ensure that the
voltage indicated on the rating plate matches that of your power supply.
8.
Only touch the utensil with dry hands.
9.
The utensil should only be connected to a properly earthed mains power supply.
10.
Never pull on the cable to disconnect the utensil from the power socket. Always
pull the plug.
11.
Do not allow the mains lead to hang over sharp edges or hot surfaces.
12.
Never attempt to repair the unit yourself, and never use it if the plug or cable is
damaged, if it is not working properly, or if there is another type of damage.
Send or take the utensil to an authorised dealer. Attempts at repair by
unauthorised persons will lead to invalidation of the guarantee entitlement.

Pull the mains plug out of the socket,
if you are not using the utensil, if a fault occurs during use
before cleaning the utensil

Never put your hands into the toast slots.
15.
Do not try to remove jammed toast from the toast slots with a knife or other
tool. Pull out the mains plug and let the utensil cool down before eliminating the
fault.
WARNING of burns/fire

Never operate the utensil unattended. Toast can catch fire.
17.
Never place the utensil near to a source of heat or steam, or close to flammable
materials.
18.
Never operate the toaster under wall cupboards or curtains.
19.
Only use the toaster with the crumb trays inserted.
20.
Never press thick toast into the toast slot by force.
21.
Never toast bread spread with butter or other spreads. Bakery products with a
high percentage of sugar or sugar coating are also unsuitable for toasting.

ull the plug out and allow the utensil to cool down before cleaning it.

Do not touch hot surfaces without protection.
WARNING of injuries from other causes

Do not allow the mains lead to hang over projections (trip-wire effect).
CAUTION – Material damage

Place the utensil on a flat, heat-resistant, stable surface at least 5 cm from the
wall.

Do not stack the unit on top of other equipment.
27.
The cable should not come into contact with the utensil when it is hot.
28.
The plug must be easily accessible so that you can pull it out quickly if
necessary.
29.
Never place the utensil near a gas flame, electric hotplate or other source of
heat. External heat can damage the utensil.
30.
Never cover the utensil as this can prevent heat from dispersing.
31.
Contemporary furnishings are coated with a wide range of varnishes and plastics,
and are treated with all sorts of care agents. It could be, therefore, that some of
these materials may contain elements that attack and soften the rubber feet. If
necessary, place a support layer beneath the feet of the utensil.
