SURFACE PREPARATION:
The following steps and products are recommended
for best results: If you use a product such as BEHR
PREMIUM® Wood Stain & Finish Stripper No. 64 to remove
loose wood bers, latex, oil-based and 100% acrylic coating
on new or weathered wood, then you must use a product
such as BEHR PREMIUM® All-In-One Wood Cleaner No. 63
to clean, brighten & neutralize wood. If you do not use
BEHR PREMIUM Wood Stain & Finish Stripper No. 64, then
use a product such as BEHR PREMIUM All-In-One Wood
Cleaner No. 63 to clean and brighten the wood surface and
to remove light to medium exterior stains caused by mold,
mildew, algae & fungus. Rinse thoroughly and allow to
dry before coating. On new wood, use a product such as
BEHR PREMIUM All-In-One Wood Cleaner No. 63 to remove
mill glaze and open the pores of the wood. Lightly sand to
remove remaining wood bers/fuzz.
WARNING! If you scrape, sand or remove old paint, you
may release lead dust. LEAD IS TOXIC. EXPOSURE TO LEAD
DUST CAN CAUSE SERIOUS ILLNESS, SUCH AS BRAIN DAMAGE,
ESPECIALLY IN CHILDREN. PREGNANT WOMEN SHOULD
ALSO AVOID EXPOSURE. Wear a NIOSH-approved respirator
to control lead exposure. Clean up carefully with a HEPA
vacuum and a wet mop. Before you start, nd out how to
protect yourself and your family by contacting the National
Lead Information Center at 1-800-424-LEAD or log on to

CLEAN-UP/DISPOSAL:
Clean all tools and equipment with warm, soapy water. Do
not dispose of this product down a drain. If spilled, contain

CAUTIONS/LIMITATIONS:

above 9F can cause the paint to dry too fast. Do not
apply if rain is expected within 24 hours of product
application.
Test product for color on a small hidden area before
proceeding.
No primer needed on most woods. However, Redwood,
Cedar, Cypress and other “bleeding” woods contain water
soluble extractive that may cause discoloration of white
and pastel colors; therefore, prime the above type woods
with one coat of a product such as BEHR PREMIUM PLUS
Exterior Multi-Surface Primer & Sealer No. 436.
Avoid applying stain too heavily. Over-application of
DECKPLUS SOLID COLOR WATERPROOFING WOOD STAIN
results in lm forming on the wood surface and therefore
subject to peeling and aking.
Stained surfaces may become slippery when wet.
Shelf life under normal conditions is 2 years (unopened
containers).
