PRODUCT INFORMATION
BEHR® Premium Advanced Formula Oil-Based Wood Stain is a full-bodied penetrating, wiping & gel stain designed for easy
application to interior wood surfaces such as cabinets, trim, doors, paneling, furniture and oors. This product provides one-
coat coverage and enhances the natural beauty of wood.
RECOMMENDED USES:
Ideal for properly prepared interior wood surfaces, both nished and unnished, painted surfaces, berglass, coated metal
and composite wood surfaces. Excellent for vertical and horizontal applications.

Coverage: Up to 500 sq ft/gal, depending on application

APPLICATION:
Stir stain thoroughly before and occasionally during use.
Do not thin. Use a brush, foam applicator or lint free cloth
and apply stain liberally in direction of the wood grain.
Allow to penetrate for 5 to 10 minutes, then wipe with a
soft cloth, rst across the grain until all excess is wiped o.
Do not allow stain that has not absorbed to dry on surface.
Allow stain to dry a minimum of 12 hours before re-coating
or topcoating with a BEHR clear protective nish.

Thinning: DO NOT THIN. Product is formulated for use at
package consistency only.
Dry Time: @77°F & 50% RH
To Touch: 4 hrs
Recoat/Topcoat: 12 hr

SURFACE PREPARATION:
All surfaces must be clean, free of dust, oil, grease, wax,
polish, glue and all other foreign substances.
New Wood: Sand with #120-grit sandpaper followed by
#180-grit or ner for a smoother nish if desired.
Remove all dust.
Previously Finished Wood: Lightly sand surface with a
400-grit sandpaper. Remove all dust. To ensure uniform
stain color and beautiful results on bare wood, apply BEHR®
Oil-Based Pre-Stain Wood Conditioner prior to staining.
Follow label instructions.
Note: Do not use a tack rag to remove dust, as it may leave a
residue that will interfere with adhesion.
WARNING! If you scrape, sand or remove old paint, you
may release lead dust. LEAD IS TOXIC. EXPOSURE TO LEAD
DUST CAN CAUSE SERIOUS ILLNESS, SUCH AS BRAIN DAMAGE,
ESPECIALLY IN CHILDREN. PREGNANT WOMEN SHOULD
ALSO AVOID EXPOSURE. Wear a NIOSH-approved respirator
to control lead exposure. Clean up carefully with a HEPA
vacuum and a wet mop. Before you start, nd out how to
protect yourself and your family by contacting the National
Lead Information Center at 1-800-424-LEAD or log on to
www.epa.gov/lead.
CLEAN-UP/DISPOSAL:
Clean all tools and equipment with mineral spirits or paint
thinner, where allowed. Otherwise, use acetone.
DANGER! Rags, steel wool and waste soaked with
BEHR PREMIUM ADVANCED FORMULA OIL-BASED WOOD
STAIN may spontaneously catch re if improperly discarded
or stored. To avoid a spontaneous combustion re,
immediately after use, place rags, steel wool or waste in a
sealed water-lled, metal container. Do not store unused
product inside the home. For disposal guidance, contact
your household refuse collection service, re department,
county or state government control agency.
CAUTIONS/LIMITATIONS:
Always test stain on an inconspicuous area of the wood to
verify desired color.
Shelf life under normal conditions is two years unopened.
Contents are combustible. Keep away from heat and
open ame.

HYDROTREATED LIGHT DISTILLATES (PETROLEUM),
NEPHELINE SYENITE, TITANIUM DIOXIDE, METHYL ETHYL
KETOXIME, HEAVY ALKYLATE NAPHTHA (PETROLEUM),
MEDIUM ALIPHATIC SOLVENT NAPHTHA (PETROLEUM),
HYDROTREATED HEAVY DISTILLATES (PETROLEUM),
STODDARD SOLVENT, CRYSTALLINE SILICA, ETHYLBENZENE
AND CARBON BLACK. MAY AFFECT THE BRAIN OR NERVOUS
SYSTEM CAUSING DIZZINESS, HEADACHE OR NAUSEA. CAUSES
EYE, SKIN, NOSE AND THROAT IRRITATION. NOTICE: Reports
have associated repeated prolonged occupational exposure
to solvents with permanent brain damage. Intentional
misuse by deliberately concentrating and inhaling contents
may be harmful or fatal. Keep away from heat and ame. Do
not smoke. Prevent build-up vapors by opening all windows
and doors to achieve cross-ventilation. Extinguish all
ames and pilot lights and turn o stoves, heaters, electric
motors, high intensity lights and other sources of ignition
during use and until all vapors are gone. USE ONLY WITH
ADEQUATE VENTILATION. To avoid breathing vapors and
spray mist, open windows and doors or use other means to
ensure fresh air entry during application and drying. If you
experience eye watering, headaches or dizziness, increase
fresh air. If properly used, a respirator (NIOSH-approved for
organic vapor with P series particulate pre-lter) may oer
additional protection; obtain professional advice before
using. A dust mask does not provide protection against
vapors. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Wash thoroughly
after handling. Close container after each use.
