Fast-Drying Oil-Based Polyurethane is designed to provide a self-leveling, smooth finish that protects and beautifies
interior wood surfaces. This product resists stains and scratches. Available in four sheens: Matte, Satin, Semi-Gloss and Gloss.
RECOMMENDED USES:
Ideal for properly prepared interior bare or stained surfaces such as furniture, moldings, cabinets, trim, wood doors and
residential hardwood floors. CAUTION: Topcoated surfaces may be slippery when wet.

For maximum durability, 3 coats are required.
Coverage: Up to 500 sq ft/gal, depending on application
method and substrate porosity.
APPLICATION:
Stir thoroughly prior to and during use. Do not shake or thin.
Using a high quality natural bristle brush, dip approximately
an inch into the can, gently tapping it against the inside to
remove any excess. Apply a thin, even coat following the
direction of the grain making sure to maintain a wet edge. To
minimize the brush marks and bubbles after staining
application, tip off the surface by holding the brush at a 45
degree angle and lightly run the bristles over the entire
length of the wood.
Floor Application: use a lambswool or synthetic pad
applicator or synthetic bristle brush and maintain a wet edge
to avoid lap marks. Do not puddle, over-brush or overlap
finishes. Sand lightly between coats with fine sandpaper.
Remove all dust prior to applying additional coats.

CAUTIONS/LIMITATIONS:
Do not use a belt or drum-type sander for sanding
between coats.
Avoid heavy traffic and replacing of furniture for 72 hours
after final coat. When replacing furniture, do not slide. Do
not install rugs or clean floors for 7 days.
Shelf life under normal conditions is 2 years unopened.
Contents are combustible. Keep away from heat and open
flame.
All surfaces must be clean, free of dust, oil, grease, wax,
polish
, glue
and all other foreign substances.
For refinishing, remove all wax or cleaner build-up with a wax
stripper or degreaser prior to sanding. Sand all surfaces in the
direction of the wood grain to desired smoothness. DO NOT
USE steel wool.
WARNING! If you scrape, sand or remove old paint, you may
release lead dust. LEAD IS TOXIC. EXPOSURE TO LEAD DUST
CAN CAUSE SERIOUS ILLNESS, SUCH AS BRAIN DAMAGE,
ESPECIALLY IN CHILDREN. PREGNANT WOMEN SHOULD ALSO
AVOID EXPOSURE. Wear a NIOSH-approved respirator to
control lead exposure. Clean up carefully with a HEPA vacuum
and a wet mop. Before you start, find out how to protect
yourself and your family by contacting the National Lead
Information Center at 1-800-424-LEAD or log on to
www.epa.gov/lead.
CLEAN-UP/DISPOSAL:
Clean all tools and equipment with mineral spirits or paint
thinner, where allowed. Otherwise, use acetone.
DANGER! Rags, steel wool and waste soaked with BEHR
FAST-DRYING OIL-BASED POLYURETHANE may
spontaneously catch fire if improperly discarded or stored.
To avoid a spontaneous combustion fire, immediately after
use, place rags, steel wool or waste in a sealed water-filled,
metal container. Do not store unused product inside the
home. For disposal guidance, contact your household refuse
collection service, fire department, county or state
government control agency.
GENERAL INFORMATION:
DANGER HARMFUL OR FATAL IF SWALLOWED.
COMBUSTIBLE LIQUID AND VAPOR. CONTAINS: PETROLEUM
DISTILLATES, NAPHTHA, XYLENE AND 2-BUTANONE OXIME.
CAUSES DAMAGE TO ORGANS (CENTRAL NERVOUS
SYSTEM) THROUGH PROLONGED OR REPEATED EXPOSURE.
CAUSES SERIOUS EYE IRRITATION AND IRRITATES
SKIN, NOSE, AND THROAT. MAY CAUSE AN ALLERGIC SKIN
REACTION. NOTICE: Reports have associated repeated
prolonged occupational exposure to solvents with permanent
brain damage. Intentional misuse by deliberately concentrating
and inhaling contents may be harmful or fatal. Keep away from
heat and flame. Do not smoke. Prevent build-up vapors by
opening all windows and doors to achieve
cross-ventilation. USE ONLY WITH ADEQUATE VENTILATION.
To avoid breathing vapors and spray mist, open windows and
doors or use other means to ensure fresh air entry during
application and drying. If you experience eye watering, headaches
or dizziness, increase fresh air. If properly used, a respirator
(NIOSH-approved for organic vapor with P series particulate pre-
filter) may offer additional protection; obtain
professional advice before using. A dust mask does not provide
protection against vapors. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Wash
thoroughly after handling. Close container after each use. FIRST
AID: If you experience difficulty in breathing, leave the area to
obtain fresh air. If continued
difficulty is experienced, get medical assistance immediately. In
case of eye contact, flush immediately with plenty of water for at
least 20 minutes and get medical attention; for skin, wash
thoroughly with soap and water. If swallowed, do not induce
vomiting. Call physician immediately. CAUTION: KEEP OUT OF
REACH OF CHILDREN-DO NOT TAKE INTERNALLY.
