BC1200
Professional 7-Piece Drum Microphone Set for Studio and Live Applications
Thank you for purchasing the BC1200 drum microphone package. These mics
will provide accurate capture of the entire drum set for both live and studio
applications. Read through these instructions proper use and technical details.
KM1200 Bass Drum Mic
Mount the bass drum mic onto a short microphone stand, then position the mic
just inside the kick drum port. Aim the mic directly at the beater for more attack,
or toward the far edge of the drum for more resonant tone.
TM1200 Tom Mics
Screw the mounting clips onto each mic so that the mic points toward the clip
end. Attach each mic onto the hoop of a tom or snare drum. The distance from
the mic to the drumhead is adjustable, as well as the angle. Position each mic
toward the center of the drum head for best results.
CM1200 Cymbal Mics
Screw the mic clips onto a pair of tripod boom stands. Slide the cymbal mics into
the mic clips and position them in one of these patterns:
Each mic positioned about 3 ft (1 m) above the ride cymbal and hi hat,
pointing directly down.
Both mics positioned directly above the snare drum in an “XY” pattern, with
the capsule ends nearly touching, one pointing at the ride cymbal and the
other at the hi hat.
Note that these mics require 48 V phantom
power to be engaged on the mixer or interface.
