I can’t connect to the Internet wirelessly
IfyouareunabletoconnecttotheInternetfromawireless
computer,pleasecheckthefollowingitems:
1.LookatthelightsonyourWirelessRouter.Ifyou’reusinga
BelkinWirelessRouter,thelightsshouldbeasfollows:
•The“Power”lightshouldbeon.
•The“Connected”lightshouldbeon,andnotblinking.
•The“WAN”lightshouldbeeitheronorblinking.
IfyourBelkinRouter’slightshavetheabovecharacteristics,go
tonumber2.below.
IfthisisNOTthecase,pleasetrythefollowing:
•MakesureyourRouter’spowercordispluggedin.
•MakesureallcablesareconnectedbetweentheRouter
andmodem.
•AreallthemodemsLEDsfunctioning?Ifnot,seeyour
modem’susermanual.
•TryrebootingtheRouter.
•Tryrebootingthemodem.
Ifyouarestillhavingproblems,pleasecallBelkin
TechnicalSupport.
IfyouarenotusingaBelkinWirelessRouter,consultthat
WirelessRoutersmanufacturersuserguide.
2.Openyourwirelessutilitysoftwarebyclickingontheiconin
thesystemtrayatthebottomright-handcornerofthescreen.
Ifyou’reusingaBelkinUSBAdapter,thetrayiconshouldlook
likethis(theiconmaybered,orblue):
3.Theexactwindowthatopenswillvarydependingonthemodel
ofUSBAdapteryouhave;however,anyoftheutilitiesshould
havealistof“AvailableNetworks”.Availablenetworksare
wirelessnetworksyoucanconnectto.IfyouareusingaBelkin
802.11gRouter,“Belkin54g”isthedefaultname.
IfyouareusingaBelkin802.11brouter,thedefaultnameshould
be“WLAN”.
Ifusinganon-BelkinWirelessrouter,pleaseconsultyourrouter
manufacturersusermanualforthedefaultname.
