2. Avoid Obstacles and Interference
AvoidplacingyourWirelessRouterorAccessPointneardevicesthat
mayemitradio“noise”,suchasmicrowaveovens.Denseobjectsthat
caninhibitWirelesscommunicationcaninclude:

• Washersand/ordryers
• Metalcabinets
• Largeaquariums
• Metallic-basedUVtintedwindows
Ifyourwirelesssignalseemsweakinsomespots,makesurethat
objectssuchasthesearenotblockingthesignal’spath(betweenyour
computersandWirelessRouterorAccessPoint)
3. Cordless Phone Placement
Iftheperformanceofyourwirelessnetworkisimpairedafterattending
totheaboveissues,andyouhaveacordlessphone:
• TrymovingcordlessphonesawayfromWirelessRouters(or
AccessPoints)andyourwireless-enabledcomputers
• Unplugandremovethebatteryfromanycordlessphonethat
operatesonthe2.4GHzband(checkmanufacturersinformation).
Ifthisfixestheproblem,yourphonemaybeinterfering.
• Ifyourphonesupportschannelselection,changethechannel
onthephonetothefurthestchannelfromyourwirelessnetwork,
aspossible.Forexample,changethephonetochannel1and
moveyourWirelessRoutertochannel11.Seeyourphone’suser
manualfordetailedinstructions.
• Ifnecessary,considerswitchingtoa900MHzor5GHz
cordlessphone.
