Creating a new Profile
1. Click“Add”toopenthenewprofilescreen.Typeinanamefor
theprofile.Thenamecanbeanythingyouwant.Youshouldpick
somethingeasytorememberlike“Work”,foryourworknetwork
or“Home”,foryourhomenetwork.Click“Next”tocontinue.
2. Thenextscreenyouwillseeallowsyoutotypeinthenameof
thenetworkyouwillbeconnectingto,thetypeofnetworkitis,
andoptionallyyoucansetthedatarateforthatnetwork.
(a) Inthe“NetworkName”box,typeintheexactnameofthe
networkyouwillbeconnectingto.The“NetworkName”is
thesameasthenetworkSSID.
(b) Inthe“NetworkType”box,selectthetypeofnetworkyouwill
beconnectingto.Select“AccessPoint”ifitisanetworkwith
awirelessrouteroraccesspoint(Thisismostcommon).Select
“Peer-to-Peer”ifthisisadirectconnectiontoanothercomputer.

(c) Inthe“TransferRate”box,itissuggestedthatyouleavethis
on“Automatic”unlessthereisaspecificneedtochange
thissetting.
Click“Next”tocontinue.
3. Thenextscreenallowsyoutoinputsecurityencryptionsettings
forthenetwork.Ifthenetworkisnotencrypted,thenleavethe
modein“Off”andclick“Complete.
Ifthenetworkisencrypted,youwillneedtohavethenetworkkeyand
keytype(openorshared).Thisinformationisavailablefromthenetwork
administratororisthesameasyourwirelessrouteroraccesspoint.
