Creating a new Profile
1. ClickAddtoopenthenewprofilescreen.Typeinanamefor
theprofile.Thenamecanbeanythingyouwant.Youshouldpick
somethingeasytorememberlikeWork,foryourworknetwork
orHome,foryourhomenetwork.ClickNexttocontinue.
2. Thenextscreenyouwillseeallowsyoutotypeinthenameof
thenetworkyouwillbeconnectingto,thetypeofnetworkitis,
andoptionallyyoucansetthedatarateforthatnetwork.
(a) IntheNetworkNamebox,typeintheexactnameofthe
networkyouwillbeconnectingto.TheNetworkNameis
thesameasthenetworkSSID.
(b) IntheNetworkTypebox,selectthetype฀ofnetworkyouwill
beconnectingto.SelectAccessPointifitisanetworkwith
a฀wirelessrouter฀or฀accesspoint฀(Thisismostcommon).฀Select฀
“Peer-to-Peer”฀if฀this฀is฀adirect฀connectiontoanother฀computer.

(c) IntheTransferRatebox,itissuggestedthatyouleavethis
onAutomaticunlessthereisaspecificneedtochange
thissetting.
ClickNexttocontinue.
3. Thenextscreenallowsyoutoinputsecurityencryptionsettings
forthenetwork.Ifthenetworkisnotencrypted,thenleavethe
modeinOffandclickComplete.
Ifthenetworkisencrypted,฀you฀will฀need฀to฀have฀the฀network฀key฀and฀
keytype(openor฀shared).Thisinformationis฀availablefrom฀thenetwork
administratororisthesameasyourwirelessrouteroraccesspoint.
