Setting Up Windows XP Wireless Network Utility to Use WPA-PSK
InordertouseWPA-PSK,ensurethatyouareusingWindows
WirelessNetworkUtilitybydoingthefollowing:
1. Right-click฀on฀“Wireless฀Network฀Connection”฀andselect฀“Properties”.
2. Clicking฀on฀the฀“Wireless฀Networks”฀tab฀will฀display฀the฀following฀
screen.฀Ensure฀the฀“Use฀Windows฀to฀configure฀my฀wireless฀network
settings”฀check฀box฀is฀checked.
3. ClickingtheConfigurebuttonwillallowyoutochooseyour
NetworkAuthenticationtype.
4. ForhomeorsmallbusinessusersselectWPA-PSK
underNetworkAuthentication.
Note: SelectWPA฀ifyouareusingthiscomputertoconnecttoa
corporatenetworkthatsupportsanauthenticationserversuch
asaradiusserver,pleaseconsultyournetworkadministratorfor
furtherinformation.
5. SelectTKIPorAESunderDataEncryption.Thissettingwill
havetobeidenticaltothewirelessrouterthatyousetup.
6. TypeinyourencryptionkeyintheNetworkkeybox.
Important: Enteryourpre-sharedkey.Thiscanbefrom8to63
charactersandcanbeletters,numbers,orsymbols.Thissamekey
mustbeusedonalloftheclientsthatyousetup.
7. ClickOKtoapplysettings.
