Setting Up Windows XP Wireless Network Utility to Use WPA-PSK
InordertouseWPA-PSK,ensurethatyouareusing“Windows
WirelessNetworkUtility”bydoingthefollowing:
1. Right-clickon“WirelessNetworkConnection”andselect“Properties”.
2. Clickingonthe“WirelessNetworks”tabwilldisplaythefollowing
screen.Ensurethe“UseWindowstoconfiguremywirelessnetwork
settings”checkboxischecked.
3. Clickingthe“Configure”buttonwillallowyoutochooseyour
NetworkAuthenticationtype.
4. Forhomeorsmallbusinessusersselect“WPA-PSK”
under“NetworkAuthentication”.
Note: SelectWPAifyouareusingthiscomputertoconnecttoa
corporatenetworkthatsupportsanauthenticationserversuch
asaradiusserver,pleaseconsultyournetworkadministratorfor
furtherinformation.
5. Select“TKIP”or“AES”under“DataEncryption”.Thissettingwill
havetobeidenticaltothewirelessrouterthatyousetup.
6. Typeinyourencryptionkeyinthe“Networkkey”box.
Important: Enteryourpre-sharedkey.Thiscanbefrom8to63
charactersandcanbeletters,numbers,orsymbols.Thissamekey
mustbeusedonalloftheclientsthatyousetup.
7. Click“OK”toapplysettings.
