Messages
The SMS ( Shor t Message Service) funct ion is a
net work service and m ay not be support ed by
your net work.
Messages can be sent by t ext , e- m ail and paging
m essaging syst em s, provided t hat t hese services
are support ed by y our network . To send text
m essages by phone, you m ust obt ain t he num ber
of t he SMS cent r e from your service provider.
Your phone can st ore up t o 20 incom ing and
out going m essages. I f the m essage m em ory is
full, an er ror m essage is displayed and you
cannot receive or save any new m essages. I f
then, you should delet e obsolet e m essages in [ I n
Message] m enu in [ M essa ge ] .
To access t he Messages m enu, press t he k ey
in Standby m ode.
W rit e Messa ge s
Via t his m enu, you can w rit e t ex t m essages of
up t o 160 alphanum er ic charact ers and for
Chinese 70 charact er s ar e allowed.
1. When accessing this m enu, t he following
opt ions are available.
• Send: sends t he m essage im m ediat ely.
Ent er the m essage and t hen input a num ber
or search t he st ored num ber
• Save: allows you t o save t he m essage so
that it can be sent lat er. You can read t he
m essage in your Out Message.
2. Creat e t he m essage as needed. For furt her
det ails on how t o enter t ext, see below. See
[ Ezi Text I nput ] .
3. I nput the full num ber, pr ess Se le ct soft key
or You can also find t he st ored num ber by
pressing Se a r ch key and then use
< Navigat ion Up / Down> key. I f you find out
the num ber, press SELECT soft k ey
4. Before sending t he m essage, the phone will
check the SMS Cent er num ber. I f t he num ber is
not st or ed, you can send t he m essage after
inputting t he num ber.
Out M e ssa ge
Out Message st ores t he m essages t hat you have
already sent or w ill send.
When you ent er this m enu, you can see t he fir st
st ored m essage. Scroll t o the desired m essage by
using t he < Navigat ion Left or Right > key and
scan through t he m essage by pr essing t he
< Navigat ion Up> or < Nav igation Down> key.
Press t he Edit soft k ey t o edit t he m essage t ext
or use t he opt ions.
While viewing a m essage, you can choose t he
following options, by pressing t he Opt soft key:
Send: sends t he select ed m essage.
Sa ve: saves the select ed m essage if you have
changed.
Ex t r a ct N u m ber: ext racts a num ber fr om t he
m essage if it has, so t hat you can call the
num ber or sav e it in t he Phonebook.
Dele t e: delet es t he select ed m essage from
Out Message.
Dele t e All: deletes all m essages stored in
Out Message. When a confirm ing m essage
appear s, press t he SELECT soft key t o rem ove
them or the Ba ck soft key t o cancel delet ing.
