Ent ering Text  
When using your phone, you will need t o ent er 
text at m any t im es. For exam ple, w hen st oring a 
nam e in t he Phonebook , creat ing a gr eet ing not e, 
wr it ing a text m essage or scheduling event s in 
your calendar. 
The follow ing t ext  input  m odes are available. 
• Ezi Pinyin :  allows you t o enter  t he Chinese 
charact ers using t heir pinyin, the phonet ic 
syst em . 
• Ezi St roke :  allows you to ent er t he Chinese 
charact ers using t heir Strokes. 
• Ezi English:  allows you t o enter  t he English 
let t ers by pressing each key once for each 
charact er. The w ords are predict ed along along 
wit h ot her candidat es t hat  fit  t he let t ers t yped 
thus far . 
• Ezi ABC:  allow s you t o enter  letters by pr essing 
the key labeled wit h the desired let t er once, twice, 
or three t im es until the let t er appears on  t he 
display. 
• Ezi 1 2 3 :  allow s you to enter  num bers. 
• Sym bol:  allows you t o enter  t he sym bols or 
punctuat ion m arks.

entering charact er s. When ent erin g a nam e for a 
Phonebook entr y, for exam ple, only Let ter m ode is 
available.

Changing Tex t  I nput  Mode 
When you ar e in a field t hat  allows charact ers 
ent ry, y ou should not ice t he text input  m ode 
indicat or in the display. 
To change t o anot her  t ext input  m ode;  
1. Press t he @ key repeat edly unt il you find t he 
desired m ode. 
2. Press t he < Navigat ion Up or Dow n>  key 
repeat edly until you find t he desired input 
m ode from  the list . 
3. Press t he SELECT soft key. 
You will see the t ext input m ode indicator in 
the t op line of t he display:  
•  Ezi Pinyin m ode ›  Pinyin 
•  Ezi St roke m ode ›   St roke 
•  Ezi English m ode ›  Let t er 
•  Ezi ABC m ode ›  ABC, Abc, or abc 
•  Ezi 123 m ode ›  123 
•  Sym bol m ode ›  Sym bol 
•  Dict ionary m ode ›  Dict ionary  
•  List  Dict ionary m ode ›  List  Dict ionary
