Ezi English M ode 
This m ode allows y ou t o enter English words w it h 
only one keypr ess per let t er . Each key on a 
key pad has m or e t han one let t er -  a single press 
on the 5 key could be J, K, or L. The Ezi English 
m ode autom at ically com pares your  key presses 
to an int ernal linguist ic database t o det erm ine 
the cor rect  word. 
The m ode r equires far few er key St rokes t han 
the t raditional m ult i- tap m ethod;  ABC m ode. 
Typin g En glish W ords 
To t y pe a word, press keys corr esponding t o t he 
let t ers you need. Rem em ber  t he following as you 
are t yping:  
1. Press key s on t he phone just  once per  desir ed 
let t er. For exam ple, to ent er ‘ hello’ , press t he 
follow ing keyStrokes:  4, 3, 5, 5, 6. 
2. The word y ou are t yping appears in t he 
display. I t  m ay change wit h each k ey you 
press. 
3. Type t o t he end of t he w or d before editing or 
deleting any keySt rokes. 
4. Com plet e each word with a space by pressing 
the 0 k ey. 
I f the word that  appears in t he display is not t he 
word t hat you desire, press t he key one or m or e 
tim es t o display alt ernat e word choices for t he 
key s you have t yped. ( For exam ple, ‘ of’  and ‘ m e’  
bot h shares t he sequence 6, 3)  The phone 
displays t he m ost  com m only used choice first .

Sm art  Pu n ct uat ions 
Period, hyphen, and apost rophe are available on 
the 1  key. eZi applies rules of gram m ar to insert 
the cor rect  punct uation. Notice t hat t he 1  key is 
used twice in this exam ple t o display two 
punctuat ion m arks:  
Shift in g a Ca se  
To change t he case of t he word, press t he 
< Navigat ion Up or Dow n >  key repeat edly  when 
the word is highlight ed. Low er Case, Capital Lock 
and I nit ial Capital are available. Also you can 
insert periods bet ween t he alphabets for 
abbreviations. 
Scr olling 
•  The < Navigat ion Up or Dow n >  key scr olls t o 
the alt er nat ive charact ers corresponding t he 
key presses. 
•  To view your m essage without m oving t he 
cur sor, press t he volum e keys on t he left side 
of t he phone. 
•  To m ove t he cursor left  or r ight t hrough y our 
text m essage, press t he <  or >  key. Not e that  
pressing t he >  key without  com plet ing a word 
by t he 0  key displays t he alternat ive word.

Press t he Ba ck  soft  key one or m ore t im es t o 
rem ove char act ers fr om  the Text  Area. 
Let t er Mode 
Let t er m ode is indicated by ABC. When t yping in 
Let t er m ode, you should press key labeled wit h 
the required char act er:
