Displa y
The display com prises three areas.

Text indications
Ar e a Descr iption
First line displays various icons (see next page) .
Middle line Display m essages, instruct ions and
any informat ion t hat you enter ( num ber to be
dialed, for exam ple) . Last line shows t he
funct ions currently assigned to t he two words.
I cons
Sign a l st rengt h: Shows t he received signal
st rengt h. The great er t he num ber of bars shows,
the bet t er t he signal is st rong.
N o Se r vice : Appears w hen y ou are outside a
ser vice ar ea. With it displayed, you cannot m ake
or receive calls. Wait a lit t le w hile for a bet t er
signal or m ove into an open area t o regain t he
ser vice.
N ew M e ssa ge: I ndicates t hat there is a new
m essage w ait ing t o be checked. ( VS indicat es
voice m ails, and SMS m eans t ext m essages.)
Ala r m : Appears w hen you set an alarm .
Vibration m ode: Appears when t he ring volum e
for calls is set t o Vibrat e.
Bat t e ry st at us: Show s t he level of your bat t ery.
The m ore bars you see, the m ore power you have
left.
Back light
The display and k eypad are illum inat ed by a
backlight. When you press any key, t he backlight
illum inat es. I t t urns off if no key is pressed wit hin
a given period of t im e.
To specify t he length of t im e t he phone wait s
befor e t he backlight turns off, set t he Backlight
m enu.
