3 Presentazione Funzionamento La Benelli Armi S.p.A.

SAFETY RULES Please read this before handling your firearm. The following safety rules are an important reminder that firearms safety is your responsibility. Firearms can be dangerous and can potentially cause serious injury, damage to property or death, if handled improperly. 1) Never point a firearms at anyone, or in any direction other than a SAFE direction, i.e., downrange. 2) Always treat all firearms as if they were loaded. 3) Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on the target.
Introduction Operation Benelli Armi S.p.A. is proud to introduce the new line of semi-automatic shotguns, a result of painstaking work at Benelli’s Research and Development Center and of Benelli’s extensive experience in precision engineering and technical know-how. The new “Benelli” semi-automatic shotguns operate on the same basic principle of inertial operation, with fixed barrel, utilizing the kinetic energy of gun recoil, today still the most important, ingenious feature of our guns.
The end of the cartridge drop lever which protrudes from the receiver is marked with a red point. When the red point is visible, the hammer is cocked and the gun is ready to fire; otherwise the hammer is not cocked. Like all Benelli automatic shotguns, the fully automatic operation of the new shotguns depends on its recoil. This eliminates the drawbacks of the systems with barrel recoil (barrel vibration during firing, need to brake the system and regulate it when firing powerful ammunition etc.
against the receiver (fig. 11). Drop change instructions Note: always make sure that the cap’s spring is inserted in the cap itself (fig. 10) before locking the barrel and foregrip against the receiver. A missing spring will not allow proper locking of the barrel, which will result in serious damage to the shotgun. (see table page 22) 6) Close the bolt by pushing the special carrier release (fig. 12). The shotgun comes with the original drop given at the factory for the various markets.
5) Place your selected stock shim on the recoil spring tube first, with the stamped letter facing toward the stock and the small stud facing the receiver. (This stud corresponds with a small hole in the receiver back) then follow with the stock. Turn the shotgun barrel toward the floor so that the stock will stay in place while you drop the correspondingly lettered retaining plate into the stock. (Making sure the plate fits exactly into its wooden receptor).
Loading The Benelli magazine holds one, two, three or four cartridges, according to the model and to standards. Total firing capacity is two, three, four or five rounds, including the one in the chamber. To load the shotgun: - Apply the safety catch by pressing the safety button on the trigger guard until its red ring, indicating firing position, is no longer visible; for greater safety, open the bolt by means of the cocking lever to check that the gun is not loaded. Then re-close the bolt.
When unloading the chamber always point the gun in safe direction and insert the safety catch on. Stripping the gun for cleaning and maintenance Before attempting any work on your Benelli make sure that the chamber and the magazine of your shotgun are unloaded. Unloading See the instructions on loading and unloading on pages 23-24. To unload the shotgun: Proceed as follows: 1) Engage the safety catch and pull the cocking lever to open the bolt (fig. 15).
Shotgun assembly after cleaning 6) Following routine maintenance and/or cleaning, the shotgun should be reassembled as follows: 1) 2) 3) 4) 5) Hold the stock-receiver assembly with your left hand and, keeping the carrier release pressed with the left-hand thumb, insert the complete trigger guard assembly- with the hammer cocked - inside the receiver with the right hand, positioning it so that its front is in contact with the receiver (fig. 37).
Important notice Always make sure that the inertia spring (or bolt recoil spring) is positioned between the locking head and the bolt itself, in order to avoid discharging the weapon when the bolt is closed. commend you to keep the parts subject to atmospheric corrosion lubricated. All barrels are internally chromium plated. Use only the Benelli Armi cleaning set and oil (figs. 53-54) (not equipped with shotgun). the kinetic energy generated by the recoil to work the action.
3) Reassemble on the barrel seat the type of choke tube desired, having care to insert the non-threaded part inside the barrel before tighten the choke tube on the thread of the barrel itself (fig. 57). Warning: the choke tube correctly assembled must not stretch out from the barrel muzzle. 4) Complete the choke assembly tighten it strenghtly with special toothed wrench (fig. 58). Warning: before to use the shotgun again, take care that the choke wrench has been removed from the barrel muzzle.
